When she sees a patient for the first time she talks to them about the doctor’s report and asks specific questions about their injury or experiences leading up to the need for physical therapy. The day-to-day writing in the field of Physical Therapy varies depending on the audience. The audience determines the purpose of the writing and writing style. Physical Therapists (PT) use evidence-based exercises and activities to rehabilitate their patients in order for them to reach their unique goal. Since PT’s work with both medical professionals and patients, they must adjust their writing to be able to communicate effectively. PT’s are just one of the many people in the medical field that may work with a particular patient so it is important that the communication between the different layers of the medical field are precise and clear. Diagnostic imaging is one of the services the physicians use to optimize the patient management. Decades ago, the physiotherapists’ role in ordering or referring for diagnostic imagining was existed. For example, in 1972 the physical therapists have practiced as first access with the privileges of imaging and they were recognized as musculoskeletal providers (Benson, Schreck, Underwood, & Greathouse, 1995). Physical therapists have shown their equivalent abilities in accurately diagnosing and managing the musculoskeletal conditions as the orthopedic surgeons and categorizing if the patient in needed to be referred for further investigations as diagnostic imaging (Desmeules et al., 2013). Moreover, they have been found more accurate in diagnosing musculoskeletal conditions than non-orthopedic clinicians. (Moore et al., 2005).

The technological advancements of the 21st century provide school faculty with the opportunity to connect with others using a plethora of communication methods, but the first step to conducting an Organizational Communication Analysis is to develop a framework that provides a clear description of the school.

Physical therapy has grown increasing more useful as the years’ progress and more is learned about the human body and its movements, interactions, and mechanisms. Someone may go to physical therapy for injury, recovery, in order to maintain function, or even due to a stroke and is trying to work on walking again. Patients of a physical therapist can include, but is not limited to, elderly, children, accident victims, athletes, those with conditions such as arthritis or fractures, etc. The possibilities are endless for potential physical therapy patients (Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences).
