Did you ever receive a tremendous impact from a vacation? My vacation to Orlando became the magnum opus summer trip. Before, most of my vacations with my family consisted of locations in Oklahoma and Texas. However, Orlando provided serendipitous moments of my life.
The vacation all started on August 22, 2016, with my family driving all the way to the Dallas/Fort Worth area in Texas. The airport greeted us with its huge, orange, and grey structure. The airport swarmed with numerous people and their luggage. After waiting for our tickets, we arrived at our scheduled plane. The plane contained a Spirit logo with strands of colors including yellow, black, and white. After ten minutes of settling down, our massive flight took towards the luminous sky. Throughout the journey, the sky glowed like a large lantern with the sunlight piercing my eyes. I became amazed and excited at the sky's beauty of its orange lights compromising with the large clouds like a community town. Once we landed in Orlando, the city sparkled with its abnormally large buildings and palm trees. The weather wrapped me and my family with a warm hug. After renting a car, we drove throughout the International Drive, a popular spot of Orlando, and saw incredible sights: the entrance of Universal Orlando, the entrance of Sea World, and billboards that came to life. After the sights, I felt that I and Orlando will make a beautiful friendship.
On August 23, my family and I visited the "Ripley's Believe It or
It was early November 2009, and I was very excited to go see my aunt and uncle up in the Twin Cities the next day. We were eating at Pizza Ranch with some family and friends that night, and when we left, my babysitter and a few other people told me, “Have fun at J and Lindsey’s.” Everybody else knew what was in store for us, but my almost-four-year-old brother, Owen, and I (six years old at the time) had no idea that the very next day we would be flying to Orlando, Florida, on a surprise trip to Disney World.
My favorite vacation, so far, is one I went on in September 2015 with my friends Alissa and Jaidah. We all share fandom interests. On the weekend of September 19, my brother went away to spend his birthday with my dad. My mom shook me awake and informed me I could bring two friends along to a room in the Dells that we would be occupying. Almost immediately I thought of the duo. I ran downstairs and texted both of them while packing a bag. They texted back not too long after, and I told them my mom and I would pick them up anywhere from 10-11 that Saturday morning. We picked up Alissa and she tried to direct us to Jaidah’s house, but she wasn’t thorough with her
When I first stepped out of the hot, stuffy plane into the bright and brilliant sunlight beaming down on my face, all I felt was excitement. With my bag in one hand and sunglasses in the other I couldn’t believe it I finally arrived at Florida! The Florida sun struck like an arrow on my skin, warming and basking my arms in its radiance. I took a deep breath and smelt a sweet flowery perfume. After pushing my way through all the tourists I finally reached my luggage. After pulling my purple bag of the conveyer belt, I made my way to the doors where my family and I were met by my aunt, uncle, and cousins to pick us up and take us back to their house.
Vacations out of state are always fun, but taking a vacation for your favorite sport is always the best. It was mid-June, and my AAU basketball team had decided we were going to participate in the 2017 YBOA Nationals in Orlando, Florida. I had been to this tournament before, and I knew it was nothing to joke about. The national tournament consisted of over fifty very talented teams from around the country that were competing for the title to bring back to their country. On the way to Florida, my parents and I were definitely excited, but they could obviously tell I was a little nervous. I knew the next week of my life was going to be a battle, but I also knew that my team had the ability to place well in nationals and have fun.
“Look at the sunset,” he told me. I shifted my focus to the window and was taken aback by the wonderful view. The world was coated in several shades of oranges, pinks, and purples; all of them blending together perfectly to create a beautiful sight. I had never seen a sight like this before, and in that moment I knew what Julian meant when he talked about “the exhilarating feel of experiencing something new”. Sure, I stepped foot on an airplane before, but spending this time alone with Julian made it different somehow. The entire relationship resonated a different vibe than the one I was in before. Many people picture their destination when they’re flying, and I was among them with the same thrill and daydreams coursing throughout my body.
I knew that today was going to be a fast pace before I even went into the building. This week we have two case managers and two teachers who are on vacation. I had seven cases that I had to address today. One the case that stood out to me was a case that involved three children and the mother. The father of the children was not around so it made the case a little harder. The three children all had some sort of infection on them, but that's not what they mother came to me for. She asked if I could help her get food stamps. I told her that we could work on it, in the middle of the conversation I notice that all three children looked like they were uncomfortable. All of the children were under the age of ten, and should be happy because
As soon as I felt the humid, coastal breeze, I was greeted by the cream-colored, grainy sand. You could hardly tell the difference between the horizon line and where the water began; blue was definitely the popular color here. The day had just begun, and there were maybe a total of 20 people taking advantage of this picture-perfect day. My family and I were here for our annual summer getaway. Wanting to go somewhere tropical, the choice had been given to me and my brother. Just in the short hour that we had been in Costa Rica, we were already pleased with our selection.
It was the first day of summer, my friends and I were headed to Great America. From the cloudless sky, the sun seemed to boil the air around us, in the muggy car with the air conditioning on full blast. The radio was turned on at almost full volume, the noise came out in static and it would sometimes cut out. My blue baseball hat knocked on the window as I anxiously stare out of it, anticipating our arrival. Finally, out in the distance I could see the very top of the newest ride, peaking over the trees. It’s vibrant orange color made it stand out over everything else. As sweat started to drip down my forehead and the air around me was getting thicker, I saw the exit, which meant we were only moments away.. We took a sharp turn to the right, causing everything in the car to slide, but
We landed in Mexico around 12 pm and got to the resort around 12:10. The drive probably should’ve been 30 minutes, but the driver was hitting 80 mph because well, it’s Cancun. That was the start of my vacation but there’s a lot more, than just that.
My parents and I happily trudged out of our chilled condo room, weighed down by various beach supplies. We made our way to the elevator, slowly but surely exiting the maze we call our condo hallways. As we glided down, floor after floor, we finally reached the parking garage. We stepped out of the elevator feeling a mix of humidity and heat immediately cling to our tan bodies. We exited the garage to find a beautiful scene. Birds were flying overhead as there were sun rays beating down against white, hot sand. We crossed the bridge that held shoes and scattered shells. After we did so, we pressed our feet against the white sand that belonged to Destin, Florida. The sight was even more alluring than I had ever imagined.
“Rinnnngggggg!” The final bell rang and the doors flew wide open. “Bang!” Lockers are slammed shut. Everyone is rushing through the hall to get to their busses and cars. Summer is finally here. Everyone is ready to sleep in, hang out with friends, and go on their vacations. Summer can get boring when you have nothing to do and when you are required to wait a month to go on your vacation. My family and I were going to Florida. The great news was that the month flew by fast. Somewhere at the end of June we started packing our bags and were ready to leave. Our relatives and friends tagged along, so it is going to be twice the fun.
Usually when I get into the holiday spirit when Halloween comes around. The movies, haunted houses, and the candy especially. I don’t really enjoy the scary movies, but I do like getting scared. I guess it’s all the like the way they kill them is something I don’t want to see. Sometimes I guess scary scenarios for some reason, like thing that would happen in Final Destination.I don’t like dressing up but I do like everything else. It’s because I’m very lazy and I don’t feel like dressing up. I’ll do everything else, but I don’t want to dress up.
At the end of last year, my father announced that we will be having a family meeting to discuss our summer vacation plans. Not this again I thought. Every year, when my father announced a family meeting regarding our vacation plans, he just explains how we're going down to North Carolina to see our family and then to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. My family and I have been to Myrtle Beach for the past eight years. Like every year to show appreciation, I attended the family meeting. I remember how my father had this stupid excited look on his face. He then opened a huge brochure that said Atlantis Bahamas. I jumped out of my seat in shock, and danced around like an idiot. I was really excited that I would finally be going to an exotic island and that is not part
The most memorable vacation I’ve had is when I went to Hawaii. When my parents told me where we were going, I knew it would be my most unique trip. We usually go on a vacation every few years to somewhere that's warm during Minnesota’s winter. Because of Hawaii’s warm climate, It was one of the best choices. Out of the five days we stayed there, one specific day became the crowning moment of the whole trip for me. Even though the trip would be a long eleven hour flight, I knew it would be worth it.
Most people that have gone to Orlando for holidays, ended with good memories. I’m not the exception. The resorts, the parks, and the restaurant make Orlando the best place to enjoy for the whole family. My last holiday with my nephew in The Wall Disney World Resort was the best time of our life for my family and me.
