Descriptive Vacation

When the plane started I was grinning from ear to ear. I could hear the roaring sound of the plane lifting off the ground. This plane that we were flying on had tablets on the back of the seats that we could watch movies on! You could also listen to music on them with earbuds! Pretty soon, the flight attendant started handing out yummy snacks and refreshing drinks. After we flew for three hours, we had arrived in Georgia.

After all of that we we’re getting on the plane. We found our sets and sat in them and buckled up we were ready for our flight. Were on a plane I was really excited about the trip, when we took off it was going down the runway faster and faster then all of a the sudden the plane was going up off the ground then we were in the sky floating forward. Then the plane was going fast whenever I looked out the window everything on land and not in the air looked tiny it was an amazing site from up above. It felt like we were flying with the birds.

It was early November 2009, and I was very excited to go see my aunt and uncle up in the Twin Cities the next day. We were eating at Pizza Ranch with some family and friends that night, and when we left, my babysitter and a few other people told me, “Have fun at J and Lindsey’s.” Everybody else knew what was in store for us, but my almost-four-year-old brother, Owen, and I (six years old at the time) had no idea that the very next day we would be flying to Orlando, Florida, on a surprise trip to Disney World.

Right as I a walked out the airplane I heard unfamiliar language being spoken around me. People were buzzing around as my heart started to beat fast. My life started to change dramatically, then it struck me it was around 18 hours

I was a little nervous, but once we got on the plane it didn’t seem half bad. After a while we started to take off, that was a little scary especially since I had a window seat. Once we were up in the air it seemed really peaceful, it definitely wasn’t like I thought it was going to be.

We were crammed into a C130 passenger aircraft like a can of sardines. Barely able to move with my gear on my lap, I heard the announcement that we were preparing to land. My emotions were running high like everyone else around me.

Three hours later the intercom announced “WE ARE NOW ARRIVING IN ORLANDO FLORIDA”. I was very excited to even be on the trip I could not stop cheesing after touching down on surface. Mom was relieved after being in the air for three to four hours. While heading to our condo I explore my mind into the Florida atmosphere.

Pulling up to the airport, we could see this airport was very big. As we made our way to the counter to get checked in for our flight; we could see all the planes out on the runway. The aroma of coffee in the air, as people started to line up to be checked in. Everyone was just read to catch their flight.

I put my bags up in the compartments,shaking,but also filled with excitement. I sit down when the plane is ready to start. My mom is trying to calm me down. It was like a dream. A 4-5 hour flight awaited. The plane starts going slower,then faster,rising, and rising until we are in the air. Feeling light like a feather. Now my heart beats to excitement. The sun is setting. Is almost dark,but I’m to excited to sleep. As we get higher we fly into a storm. It looks like glass

The only sound that filled my ears was my keyboard clicking as my fingers raced across it. I had been procrastinating from finishing this assignment all evening, but I knew I needed to get it done. The burning sunset was shining through the windows as I was finishing up. It was a peaceful silence, until I heard the soft whispers of my parents that ignited my sense of curiosity. I was concentrating hard; doing my best trying to make out the hushed words that were being spoken.

The light to put our seatbelts on glowed as the captain spoke to us and flight attendants acted out safety instructions. At take-off my stomach was filled with butterflies, but I wasn't scared. My body was pushed into the seat but I pretended I was the captain of a fighter jet. When we were stable I discovered that flying wasn't that bad. And the ocean looked beautiful out the windows! I put on my CD player until the played the in-flight movie, Planet of the Apes. I didn't like it so I kept listening to my CD player all the way through dinner. I fell asleep but the sound of the captains voice woke me. He was telling us there was an hour left of the flight. Flight attendants asked us to stow away our bags and prepare for landing. Butterflies were fluttering in my stomach again as I anticipated the landing. I felt the plane lose

I woke up from my nap when I felt a light tap on my shoulder by my brother, Alex. He told me that it was time for the plane to begin its descent so I gathered my belongings and adjusted my seat until it was upright. As the airplane began to descend, I was filled with excitement and enthusiasm. I could feel so much energy rush through my veins as my ears popped and I finally heard the flight attendant say, “Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Singapore Changi Airport!”

I rushed up the slippery, cold, wet stairs to get in line for the next slide. This place is too good to be true, I thought. As if she could read my mind, my best friend Parker agreed, this vacation has been the best trip ever. Parker and I are vacationing in Florida with our families for spring break. We had pestered our parents for a trip to Disney World, but we settled on an island resort in Florida. Now I am super happy we chose this place. From the best restaurants to the best water park ever, I couldn’t have asked for more. Parker and I spent the whole day all at one pool, only going on three slides. After we had tired ourselves out, we headed back to our condos to meet our families.
