I chose “The Devil and Tom Walker” for my fictional story. (The plot is below.) The story begins by showing you the background of the story, and describing how miserly Mr. and Mrs. Walker are. Then it shows Tom talking to “Old Scratch” (The Devil), who then offers Tom all the treasure of Capt. Kidd, for a few conditions. Tom goes home to think about the offer, where his wife tells him to take the offer. After many fights on the subject she goes to make the bargain herself, the devil tells her to return the next night. She goes but doesn’t come back, a day after she goes missing, Tom goes looking for her where he finds her apron with a heart and liver in it. Tom makes the deal with devil next time the meet, conditions and all, one of the conditions is, he has to use the money to start a brokers shop. Years go by, Tom fearing the bargain he made with the devil will catch up with him, tries to be a Christian, he carries a Bible everywhere he goes. However, while arguing with one of his client’s, Tom says in his wrath: “Devil take me if I have made a Farthing.” Next comes three loud knocks on the door where Tom sees the devil again and is taken away by the devil. Lastly, all of Tom’s wealth and assets disappear forever. Such is the plot for “The Devil and Tom Walker.”

In 666 Death RD Bloody Mary BLVD 7631, there is a horrifying, supernatural, dried out house, your bones will have a frigid feeling going into the pores with just looking at the ancient, moldy, and dusty house. The exterior walls has been scratched off, with what seems to look like fingernails. You can see the cherry red blood, as if it was there for eons. The walls are made out of solid rock stones. They have the color of cherry red blood, and the Dark green color of molded algae. Around the perimeter, there are a couple of fallen chipped trees that will not only grab the victim, but they devour on their crunchy bones. In the front of the supernatural house, there is a female ghost, guarding the house from any disturbances, such as dark spirits.

Washington Irving is an American writer in the era of Romanticism who mainly focused on dark romantics. One of his popular works, The Devil and Tom Walker, written in 1824, is a short story based on the legend of Tom Walker , the main character, who exchanged their soul to the devil for Pirate Kidd’s treasure. Irving depicts the main character as a miserly and greedy person who cares for nothing more, but himself, the tone of the story is dark and gloomy, which portrays the daunting and bone-chilling imagery of the story.

It takes me a moment to gather my heart and fix my composure before I even notice the interior-every single wall is painted a bright color. Greens, reds, oranges, yellows, no wall is safe. I almost laugh, a major contrast from the cry I choked down at the doorway, and much like this place is from the chameleon job it has on the outside. The all-black desk stands out, the main piece of furniture in the rainbow-like room, as my mom makes her way to it to check in.

One day, Tom finds the remaining parts of an old Indian fortress and, subsequent to kicking a skull, experiences the Devil, who offers Tom covered fortune, apparently in return for his spirit.

The exterior is for sure to make you in a sickening dreary mood. As you look at the spooky mysterious house you can see that the window are cracked and you can hear the howl for the wind. Do you ever hate messing with with the plants or tree? Well you don't have too because the trees are dead and scary looking. The grass is so sharp will cut you to the bone. Also there are always dark-red eyed birds that fly around the house and scares away visitors. The exterior is for sure going to make you feel like you are about to experience death as your soul takes over.

There comes a car in the drive-thru, and it pulls right up to the window, and as I hear chatter among the customer and Larissa. Larissa comes towards the front of the counter and says “I can’t argue with this guy, we don’t have student discounts and tells Jason to go and talk to the customer.” Jason does not hesitant and goes to the window, where I hear him saying, “sir, we do not have student discounts”, and this seems to calm the man down. Larissa makes the drinks and serves the guy his donuts that he ordered to and throws his straw wrapper at Larissa and drives off.
