Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.”- WHO definition of health.
This definition has not been amended since 1948.
Health can be broadly studied as Physical Health and Mental Health.
Physical Health: For most people, physical health implies good body health which is achieved with regular exercise, good nutrition and the required amount of rest. Physical wellbeing is defined as something a person can achieve by improving all health-related aspects in his/her lifestyle. Major components of complete physical wellbeing may include proper diet, bodyweight management, being away from drugs, avoiding alcohol abuse, responsible sexual behaviour (sexual health), hygiene, and getting the right amount of sleep.
Mental Health: Mental health refers to people's cognitive and emotional well-being. According to WHO, mental health is "a state of well-being in which the individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community".
