Abortion is the ending of pregnancy before the fetus can live independently outside the mothers womb. Pregnant mothers who use abortion, use abortion as an option because they have the fear that their family will judge them by their mistakes. () 50% of U.S. women having abortions are younger than 25. Women between the age of 20-24 have 33% of all U.S abortions. There are 17% of teenagers having abortions. Abortion to a minor is easier to persuade to, because a minor has no idea what will happen. They have their whole life ahead of them and their future my just be starting. Along with minors, adults use abortions as an early choice. Girls who become pregnant use abortion as an easy way out. The complication in an abortion results from the different type of abortion taking place.
The most common type of abortion is taken place during the first trimester. The first trimester is before the 12th week of pregnancy. In this stage the fetus can turn summersaults, suck his or her thumb, frown, jump, and move his or her tongue.Vacuum aspiration (the suction method) is the most common type of abortion made during the first trimester. It is a surgical procedure that involves anesthesia. During vacuum aspiration, the cervix is gently dilated, and a narrow tube with a knife-edged tip is inserted into the womb. Then the vacuum tears the fetus and the placenta into pieces and sucks everything out of the womb. If all the contents are not out, the doctor has to go in and scrap out the remaining materials. During this procedure the fetus is unable to understand what all is happening but they are still human. The mothers who choose this option ignores the fact that fetus is growing and that ever since the day he or she was conceived, the tiny characteristics of the mother and father are being formed into this child.
Another method used in abortion is Dialation and Evacuation. Dialation and Evacuation is used up to 18 weeks. In those 18 weeks the fetus has already grown 5 inches long, has eyelashes, eyebrows, fingernails, can blink, grasp, move its mouth and has hair
