Disdain for the government has been in existence for as long as there have been governments. There are many instances where the Puppet Master’s word and actions display a clear disdain for the government, much like Bonaparte and Hitler. In this instance, the Puppet Master makes solid arguments for the need of a limited government. For example, the Puppet Master talks about how Rutledge hid the actual outcome of operation Shellhell or Freedom Force. Also, there’s the fact that not many people knew about the Y2K Circuit. Limited government is when the government is restricted with reference to governing powers by limitations prescribed in laws and in a constitution, as in a limited monarchy or a limited government. Limited government is needed so that we don’t live under a dictatorship. James Madison said “In the first place, we need to remember that the general government is not to be charged with the whole power of making and administering laws.” The government should be for the people and by people. …show more content…

Instead of telling “the people” the outcome, he came up with a different outcome, one where everyone was safe. Citizens deserve to know what happened to their family and friends or just in general. Rutledge hiding this information is a big deal, and it seemed to only make him look good. "I'm here to make sure Rutledge confesses to his treasonous crimes" (Petry 72). There are many reasons as to why Rutledge failed to give the information about operation Freedom Force, but none of them outweigh the fact that citizens don’t know what happened to their friends or family and still side with
