THE CANINE ADVANTAGE
Benefits of Dogs in the Workplace
Most highly successful companies value their employees as their most important resource. Many of these companies have found that allowing employees to bring dogs to work has improved overall employee health while increasing productivity. This report will present facts from case studies and actual employer accounts to support the benefits of dogs in the workplace. The intent is to persuade HR to investigate and hopefully implement such a program within our company. In addition to increased employee health and productivity, dogs would provide our company a competitive edge over other companies in our industry in relation to employee morale and creativity.
Employee Morale
Employees who bring their dogs to work are free of the guilt and worry over leaving their dogs at home. They also offer a sense of comfort not normally found at work (Stone 1). This improves employee morale which, in turn, leads to employee loyalty. Len Kane, co-editor and co-founder of Dogfriendly.com, states that “studies have shown people are more likely to remain with an employer that allows them to bring their dog to work” (Stone 1). A survey conducted by SimplyHired.com and Dogster.com concluded that 32 percent of employees surveyed would work for less money if allowed to bring their dogs (Stone 1). Such benefits

A study from Central Michigan University revealed dogs in the workplace can lead to more trust between coworkers, resulting in greater collaboration (Evans 1). An employee that stops to clear their mind and take a step back from their work often leads to enhanced creativity. A study published in the Journal of Experimental Psychology found going for a walk can boost creative thinking by as much as 60% compared to sitting (Evans 1). Allowing employees to take their dogs on short walks would provide such an
Dogs, in my opinion, make very wonderful pets. Allowing a dog into a workplace makes sense in some ways, but I would definetly not support it. People who support the idea claim they would feel more relaxed, have less stress, and be more
I, along with the author of, "Against Bringing Dogs to Work," believe that dogs should not be allowed in the workplace because they can be a distraction or harm other employees or property.
I think "Bring Your Dog To Work" would be a great idea. One, having your dog at work will make you feel more relaxed. Two, having your dog at work will allow you to be more productive. But, there's one thing that makes this idea bad...
I believe letting your employees bring their dogs to work is a great way to boost their motivation and work ethic.
According to the article, Tony Treanor, NCSS’s director of Human Resources was granted the opportunity of putting in place a new policy on dogs in the workplace. With
When owning a dog, studies show that more people that own dogs have less doctor visits and miss less days at work. It also motivates people to be more active in society and become social. People with a lot of energy tend to buy or adopt a dog. There are so many dogs that have just as important jobs as humans. Many people adopt dogs for their disabilities. Some common jobs for dogs include guide dogs, therapy dogs, war dogs, and search and rescue. A couple less common jobs are herding, acting dogs, hunting, sled, and dogs who are trained to detect seizures. Dogs can not only find bombs and weapons but also bedbugs said one book (Hare page 116)
Bringing dogs to work is not a good idea. To allow employees to bring their dogs to work will be a distraction for them and may lead to a desatisfaction job or result. Having pets at work will be a distraction for employees and mostly for who are allergic or afraid to pets because they will be looking around to ensure that they are safe. Another possibility example to not bring pets to work is that it may lead to a disatisfaction job in order, pets owners will take most of their time to take care of their pets instead of doing correct their jobs. This delay can easily affect the job as well the result of a project.
he novel, To Kill a Mockingbird, is a bildungsroman written by Harper Lee. The novel takes place during the 1930s and is told in a flashback as the narrator and main character, Jean Louis Finch, or Scout, recalls the events that occur within a three-year span in her home at Maycomb, Alabama. In that period of time, Scout and her family are introduced with multiple predicaments that derive mainly from the discrimination and unacceptance shown by the citizens of this southern state. Throughout the novel, Harper Lee uses the literary element of conflict. Conflict is specified as the complication that arises between opposing forces in a story. The author uses conflict to convey the central idea that courage is displayed by attempting to
I support our decision on Bring Your Dog to Work program. I think it could be a really good idea. Especially, for those who have no pet sitters at home. It can be a real productive thing, if people took it seriously.
What is the difference between good and evil? To most, these terms have absolutely nothing in common. However, if one were to look at these traits more carefully, they would realize that these terms do have similarities, and nothing portrays that better than Arthur Miller’s The Crucible. At the beginning of the play, it is revealed that a group of girls were caught dancing in the woods-presumably practicing witchcraft. To save themselves the persecution, the girls-led by a girl named Abigail Williams-start claiming other people had bewitched them. As the lie spreads, the girls go after both those standing in their way, and those who they didn’t like in the first place. One victim of Abigail in particular is Elizabeth Proctor, for Abigail and Elizabeth’s husband John had an affair, and Abigail believes that if she can get rid of Elizabeth, then she can be with John. The Crucible contains an abundance of symbolism and allegories, one of the most prominent ones involving Abigail and Elizabeth. Throughout the play, Miller uses the two women as allegories for good and evil by showing why and when they lie, how selfish they are, and how other characters describe them.
For example, the person that supports it says that pet owners that have alot of stress and anxiety can feel less of that, when their dog is with them. One wouldn't mind working later hours if they had their dog with them. This person believes that the workplace will increase with satisfaction and productivity having their dog with them. When emloyees are happy there are higher job satisfaction.
The goals and desired outcomes of the Facebook “Dogs In The Workplace Agreement” is to develop a comprehensive pet policy that leaves no room for interpretation on rules and regulations. Creating a less stressful work environment by boosting employee morale can create a win-win situation for both dog-lovers and non-pet owners. Allowing dogs in the workplace will provide employees with many business-enhancing benefits, which include emotional support, improved morale, reduced stress levels, enhanced job performance and productivity, promotes teamwork and greater employee satisfaction (American Humane Association). Dr. Becker from the Mercola Healthy Pets, states that research shows how interacting with pets can lower stress levels, and boost
I believe that having dogs in a work place may be more of a nuisance than a benefit. Not all dogs are behaved well or responnd well to new enviornments. Also some people are allergic to dogs which would cause a whole new hassle of it's own because though some people may be less stressed the people with allergies suffer the whole time at work.
Deciding whether or not I should agree with dogs being allowed in our work place was very tricky for me. I appreciate your desire to make sure every employee feels comfortable and stress-free at work. Also, I adore dogs and would love to able to have my furry-friend alongside me all day long. However, after looking at the pro's and con's, I'd have to say I do not agree with this idea.
“Have you ever get the feeling of your heart stopping in the middle of news?”. Yeah, that was me, I was at the waiting room on the second floor of one of the hospitals in the city of Tyler. I had brought her because she was feeling bad. She was feeling extreme pain on her right side of her stomach, while being pregnant. I got so scared that I had to drive her down to the hospital knowing I did not have a license, but that did not stop me at that minute. Waiting on that big empty room is kind of scary no one comes, no one goes. The doctor comes in and looks at me, by the expression on his face I knew it was not something good. Well, my mother was diagnosed with kidney Infection while being seven months pregnant.
