The first major settlement of the Doukhobors was located in an area known as Taurida in southern Ukraine. Their colonies were situated along the banks of the Molochnaya River, which eventually flows into the Sea of Azov. The nearby river caused the surrounding land to be rich and fertile, perfect to support the farming lifestyle of the Doukhobors. Along with this idyllic landscape, the sponsorship and support of the then Tsar of Russia made initial life in Taurida ideal. Tsar Alexander I reigned from 1801-1825, spanning much of the Doukhobors’ tenancy in Taurida before their eventual exile in the mid-nineteenth century. Alexander was influenced by the liberal values of the Enlightenment, and worked to normalize religious and minority tolerance

Since the colonization of Canada First Nations people have been discriminated against and assimilated into the new culture of Canada through policies created by the government. Policies created had the intentions of improving the Aboriginal people’s standard of living and increasing their opportunities. Mainly in the past hundred years in Canadian Society, policies and government implemented actions such as; Residential schools, the Indian Act, and reserve systems have resulted in extinguishing native culture, teachings, and pride. Policies towards the treatment of Aboriginal Canadians has decreased their opportunities and standard of living because of policies specified previously (Residential schools, the Indian Act, and reservation systems).
The Wampanoag' is a Native American individuals in North America. They were a free alliance comprised of a few tribes. Numerous Wampanoag individuals today are selected in two governmentally perceived tribes, the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe and the Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head, or four state-perceived tribes in Massachusetts. In the start of the seventeenth century, at the season of first contact with the English, the Wampanoag lived in southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island, a domain that incorporated present-day Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket islands. Their populace numbered in the thousands because of the extravagance of nature and their development of corn, beans and squash. Three thousand Wampanoag lived on Martha's Vineyard alone.
New Kinord is an ancient settlement situated in the Muir of Dinnet National Nature Reserve to the South-West of the city of Aberdeen, as seen in figure 1.
A government surveyor drew a line separating the Wallowa Valley. The Nez Perce objected. The Nez Perce claimed, “the Indians who signed the new treaty were the leaders of other bands and had no right to give up land that was not even theirs” (Williams & Youngs, 5). This is how the Non-Treaty came about. Soon the whites and Indians fought over the land and Indians were killed, one that was best friend with Joseph, he felt like he was is brother. Burial was granted to bury the Indian in the valley by General Howard.
The first explorers of modern-day South Carolina were the Spanish. The first successful settlement made there by the was led by Lucas Vazquez de Ayllón, but there settlement did not last because of the bad weather, shortage of food and hostility of the natives. Later on in 1292 King Charles I gave Sir Robert Heath grant to settle in the area below the Virginia colony. Although his attempt to settle was not successful it sparked the British’s interest in the area. The attempt was later renewed in 1663 by King Charles II who awarded Eight loyal supporters a charter to start a colony in Carolina, these men were given the title Lord Proprietors. Their colony was succesfull but relied on their relationship with the natives.
Human rights are the rights of humans, regardless of nationality, gender, race, or religion. We should all have this in common as we are all part of humanity. However, Indigenous people did not always have these rights (Ag.gov.au, 2015). Aside from basic human rights, Indigenous people also have their own rights specific to their culture. Before 1967, Indigenous people had different rights in different states and the Australian federal government did not have any jurisdiction over Aboriginal affairs until Australia’s constitution was amended for this purpose in 1967 (Moadoph.gov.au, 2015). Between 1900 and the present time, there have been significant changes to the rights of Indigenous Australians. The effects of the European Settlement on the Indigenous people of Australia have been devastating. When white people began arriving in Australia, the Aboriginal people believed them to be ghosts of ancestor spirits. However, once they realised the settlers were invading their land, the Aborigines became, understandably, hostile (Slater & Parish, 1999, pp.8-11). In 1788, the total Indigenous population was believed to be between 750,000 and one million. By 1888, the Indigenous population was reduced to around 80,000 Australia wide (Korff, 2014). The three main reasons for this dramatic decline were the introduction of new diseases, violent conflicts with the colonisers, and settlers acquiring Indigenous land (Digital, 2015). In 1848, the Board of National Education stated that it
For the next 100 years after the encounter with the Spanish explorers, the Cherokee had little if any additional exposure to Europeans. Beginning in the 1670s, the tribe had a period of regular contact with the Europeans. It was this sustained contact with Europeans that lead the Cherokee to begin to adopt certain mannerisms and customs of the Europeans which in turn lead to the tribe's classification as one of the "Five Civilized Tribes."
During that time there were many settlers in James town. They were good farmer ,good builders ,good businessmen. Rich businessmen from London in 1606 created a petition for King James 1 to create a charter to create a colony in the New World. Together those businessmen created the Virginia Company, their goal was to create a permanent town in the name of the British government in the New World. So 105 people in 1607 boarded a ship and traveled to the New World. When they arrived they would create the famous first English colony, called Jamestown. The people aboard the ship weren’t exactly the farmer agriculture type. They were wealthy individuals and their servants. They colonist had planned on hunting, gathering and trade with the natives to suffice. They thought they could force the native to give them their resources but they were very wrong.
In general, Jamestown colony survived because of the determination of the London Company. The London Company in December 1606, sent three ships and 144 colonists all male to Virginia , but unfortunately only 105 survived the voyage and landed in Virginia and form a settlement, which they call Jamestown (Reich, p. 2011, p.59). In short, the area didn’t seem to be prosperous because of the land was marshy and the disease malaria was spreading amongst them and the locals. In addition, another quality they had was the ability to survive animosity from the Native Americans which surrounded them all over. According to Reich (2011), “Relations with the Native Americans was touchy ever since Jamestown was founded and one tribe attacked the English
The Indian mounds built of earth are very impressive landmarks and important remains of native people. There are many reasons why Native Indians build the mounds. One of them was a platform for villages, and place for seasonal gathering, or political gathering. It was also place to bury the important members of the local tribal groups (like Boys, Pharr, and Byum). Mounds were also used as location of major regional trade festivals. There is also theory that the mounds were used as a conventional temples and location of important religious rituals, or as the houses of important leaders.

In the 1620s the Pequot tribe seeked to control the trade routes in and around present day Connecticut by force. By the early 1630s, the English had arrived and wanted to break their hold on the trade routes. In 1636, an honest trader by the name of John Oldman was murdered by the Pequot tribe in an attempt to halt England’s expansion upon the trade routes. Many Englishmen felt that the Pequots killing of John Oldman was a their way to wage war against the English. The English felt that it was their turn to fight back.
