How much consumable paper does our school use in one week? To me this question is asking in one week how much paper, in Downers Grove North High School, is produced and used over the course of 5 days. If I had to guess I would say we use about 1,035 pieces of paper are used in one week. I arrived at this estimate because I multiplied 21 (what I thought was the # of papers per class) by 5 (# of days in school week). Which came out to be 105 (Total # of papers 1 class uses in one day.) Then I multiplied that number by 7 (Typical # of classes in a day.) Then reached the number 735. I figured that number was too low, so I added an extra 300 for passes, posters and etc. The answer then came out to be 1,035. The obvious constraints to this problem …show more content…
First, multiply 7 (the typical number of classes a student takes) by 3 (an estimated amount of papers a student uses in one class). I chose the number 3 because i kept track of how many papers i got in each class for a day and then averaged it out and got 3. After I multiplied 7 by 3, I got 21 (which is the average number of papers used by a student in one day). I feel it’s reasonable to assume that this is the average amount of paper staff and/or faculty member would use as well. Then, I multiplied 21 by 5 (which is the number of days in a school week.) We then get the answer of 105 (The number of papers a member of North would use in a week.). Finally, we multiply 105 by 2488 (population of DGN, which includes all staff and students) and we arrive at the number 261,240 (number of papers used by DGN in one week). The reasonable range of this answer based on my calculations can go from 2,488 to about 300,000 if i were to round up my answer to the nearest 100,000. While I look back on my work I feel that there may have been some sources of error, such as I don’t know how recent the number of students and staff at DGN is. Also, I can never be sure what the average amount is for a student because all classes are

I really appreciated watching the documentary about Little Rock Central High School in class this week. “Little Rock Central High School is an accredited comprehensive public high school in Little Rock, Arkansas.” I had never hear about the school before or knew the history behind what happened many years ago. I cannot imagine what it must have felt like for African American kids to go school for the very first time with a bunch of white Americans who did not accept them at the time. Nine simple ordinary African American kids worked so hard to allow a chance for them to receive an education in a school that was not segregated. To think about how much bullying they went through and how much verbal and physical abuse they must have endured
Thinking about the I search scared me as an underclassman. It baffled me how I was going to write so many pages and gather so much information on just one word. I began thinking of the perfect word that would be so familiar to me that writing this paper would seem effortless. After thinking about it long and hard, I figured it out; courage. I wanted to write about this word because I believe that this word is so powerful and would be interesting to write about. Courage is such an inspiring and motivational word that I was intrigued to find more information on it. This word has also shown itself throughout my life, so I wanted to be able to write about a word that means so much to me. There has been hardship shown in many different ways as i

In any classroom of any school, there are always three types of students. A seating plan can easily reveal each type of student: sitting in the front row are the nose-picking Nerds, in the back row are the napping No-Shows, and in the middle row, sit the neglected nobodies. These classes of students may seem stereotypical, but they are as accurate as a Nerd’s math calculations.

Yearbook is an elective which requires constant dedication and hard work. Yearbook also requires maintaining a positive attitude throughout the day and respect for the other kids in the class. I feel that I have the constant diligence to continue this elective, without doubt, till the end of the year. Whether it is to come early or to leave late, I am willing to persist in what I am doing. From the experience I have had through Journalism, I know what it feels like to work as a group, and to cooperate as one.
The basis of my project was I wanted to find out how much “stuff” students had with them on campus. I sent out a survey asking the 931 students of Ripon College ten simple question:

By estimating the average number of students who will visit the tutor room during the opening hours, we can determine whether the Department of Finance and Actuarial Science can close down the tutor room during some specific hours so that they can reduce the hiring expenses. Firstly, we need to identify the distribution needed for this test. 3As the numbers of students who will visit the tutor room during the opening hours are subject to the timing students usually study and all this and would not affect one another, this random variable is independently and
In the second replication of the study I was able to recruit 14 students. As the number for this replication was lower, the results may not be as accurate. The results of each student’s guesses are listed below, along with the averages for each year, that show the same irregular patter as the results above.
