Dr.Dre
(Andre Romelle Young)
Gangsta rap poineer Andre Romelle Young or Dr.Dre as he is better known as, was born on February 18th, 1965. As an enthusiastic music fan from the start, Dre started working as a DJ in his teens. His first major success came with the rap group N.W.A. and he later co-founded Death Row Records in 1991. In 1992 his first solo album, The Chronic, became a huge hit. Dre started up Aftermath Entertainment in 1996 and signed Eminem and 50 cent to his label. Today Eminem is maybe the most recognisable name in hip-hop, some even call him a rap god. He eventually co-founded the company Beats Electronics with Jimmy lovine, and made milllions on its 2014 sale to Apple. Dr.Dre is perhaps one of those who have influenced rap

He produced many of the tracks from Ruthless Records, a venture he started with Eazy-E.
With Marion “Suge” Knight, Dre co-founded Death Row Records in 1991 and worked an Snoop Dogg´s debut album with Tupac Shakur(2pac).
In 1996 Dre left Death Row Records, and thus escaping from the troublesome west coast. There was an east coast rap feud that arose mostly between 2pac and Biggie Smalls, which led to both of their death´s. Dre started his own label, Aftermath Entertainment and signed with Eminem and 50 cent, who was Aftermath´s biggest successes. Dre was criticised for signing with white rapper Eminem, but he proved them very wrong. Eminem is now one of the most successful rappers ever. Dre has produced several of Eminem´s hit albums.
The criminal…
Dre hasn´t just rapped about violence and reckless behaviour. He has lived some of his lyrics, experiencing numerous scrapes with the law. In 1991 he hit TV host Denise Bannes and faced assault charges, but it was settled out of court. He has been arrested for battery of a police officer and in 1994 he led the police on a high speed chase in a Ferrari while intoxicated, he was sentenced to several months in jail. One time when N.W.A was recording in a more high end region of L.A, they were all assaulted by the police just because they were black, and thought to be “hood
For instance he has won thirteen awards in total. He has won four grammys, three soul train music awards, two ama favorite awards, one mtv award, one echo award, one bet award, and one billboard top award. The original lineup consisted of Arabian Prince, DJ Yella, Dr. Dre, Eazy-E, and Ice Cube. MC Ren joined in 1988, with
There is little question that he came from the streets, but this had been a growing comparison among the correlation of hip hop and the crack generation. “Not only did black teenagers in similar situations relate to what Eazy was talking about, but white suburban kids fantasized about being in his situation” (Eriewine).
How many times have people tried getting away from the police, or do a crime against them? Chamillionaire sings on how tries to get away from the police, and the ways he does get away from them. He is a great rapper, because he puts everything he has and had into his music, and other rappers do the same thing. Although most of the rappers are good in a sort of way, a lot of them discriminate something about the police. Chamillionaire and most of the other people that have rapped, have had so much bad things that has happened to them growing up that has helped them become what they are today.
Dr. Dre connects with our generation because of his style of music. He takes account of the "weak" and lifts them to support a higher purpose letting them know they are heard, unlike Washington. Dre's advantage to self-empowerment allowed him to focus on his drive. His reliance on himself build his focus but left him unprotected. The fact he lacked a support team to guard his vulnerabilities: will. His will to success generated obstacles because not everyone wore a smile for him since some viewed his prosperity as their demise. As a black male in his era, he overcame the prison stigma opening concealed doors to his community members. This breakthrough motivates artists even now to thrive. Dre's methods to triumph attracted people due to the unusual perspective. His music depicted his life struggles. Coupled with the growth of technology Dre's work arose. The internet promotes straightforward access enabling people to follow the development of Dre's music industry. Since music designated a role in the majority of the population's lives Dre's pathway bridge had already been created. As he says, "I've gotten my personal life all the way intact and made sure that it's straight. Without that, you have no foundation. Your building is going to crumble." Dre's private life assisted in setting the tone for his fame. Although, placing the ugly and good on a pedestal can lead to condemnation from people.
Finding rap as a useful form of expression, he began participating in rap battles when he wasn’t working jobs to get by. He was skilled in english despite his failures in high school, going as far as studying the dictionary. This gave him a certain command over the english language when he was rapping. After little success as a rapper, he met Kat and they had a baby, which gave Eminem a drive to be a successful rapper. After winning a competition in Los Angeles a well known rapper Dr. Dre discovered Marshall, listened to his album and signed him to his record label.
He is known as The King Of Hip-Hop by many because he shares knowledge and wisdom to the younger generations (like me). He wears many other hats that people appreciate him for. I appreciate him because he stands out for all African Americans and says that “they are the strongest hard working people in the world”. He is a fun loving guy that will keep a smile on your face. If you don’t believe me, please see the photo of him and Oprah. Oprah doesn’t even like rappers. Dre is also an inspiration to people that are poor, he said that he used to do $50 a week and now he earns $19.66 per second. Not only that but to help those people he donated $1 million dollars to pay for hospital bills, schools, and funerals. Dre and Jimmy Lovaine also donated to the University of Southern California $70million. The money goes toward giving students the opportunity to learn marketing, business, design, and liberal arts. In fact, Dre also made a donation to help Los Angles be a safer city. Most rappers are sometimes decent people. Sure they smoke weed, but there’s always more than
One of these artists signed to Aftermath was Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers. Dr. Dre had discovered Eminem in the late 90s while listening to a demo tape sent by him (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgztAU7p-WM). After listening to the demo, Dr. Dre was so impressed that he met this aspiring rapper in Los Angeles at Dre’s home. Afterwards, the two did a recording session “...in his home studio, where the white wordsman came up with his sobriquet Slim Shady, the song "Role Model" and two others that ended up on his first album” (Rush). This record was very successful that it “reached number two on the Billboard 200 and received general acclaim from critics...”, which gave Aftermath Records huge potential for success as a recording label (Walters).
His name is Marshall Bruce Mathers, also known as Eminem or Slim Shady. He is a very famous rap-star. Marshall was born 17 October 1972 in St. Joseph, Missouri but grew up in Detroit, Michigan where he moved because of family problems.
How do you feel about the violence? What he felt about it was that he thought it was wrong and stupid. Eazy E’s and the rest of N.W.A members it was their fault
Dre was persistent and changed the sound of gangsta rap forever. The sounds of the music Dre produced were as raw and complex as real life, and they were not mundane. Dre made gangsta rap become slower, heavier with bass, and slower with a lazy drawl that brought thoughts of vocalists that were medicated very heavily. Los Angeles's most infamous city neighborhoods on the inner parts were where gangsta rap was started, the type of music appalled as many people as it pleased, because of the glory it shed on crime and violence(Smith 2015). The World Class Wreckin Cru, a Los Angeles based rap group was how Dr. Dre became famous at first by producing and sometimes rapping for them(Wasserstein 2015). South Central Los Angeles house parties and clubs were where the World Class Wreckin Cru first performed in the 1980's(Hoffman 2006). Dr. Dre is now one of the most important and influential figures in the history of hip-hop, Dr. Dre has attracted as many critics as admirers for creating the type of music that dominated so much of the 1990's hip-hop(Wasserstein
First of all, Eminem is not the fist white artists to be known for their success in a traditionally black music. Some people even label Eminem as the Elvis Presley of rap music, as Elvis took rock-n-roll, which was originally from African American music and converted it into white music.
Dre will be teaming up with the Mayor of Compton, Aja Brown, for the Performing Arts Project. Apparently the rapper has been reaching out to Brown for some time now, with ideas about a project that could give
Beat by Dre are upscale headphones that have taken the headphone market by storm in recent years. Dr. Dre is an award winning producer and songwriter who co-founded Beats. Beats can be seen almost everywhere from TV to people wearing them in the streets. They produce headphones and speakers with supposedly exceptional sound quality. Many people question if Beats are actually worth the price, but to others Beats are much more then just headphones.

He in time co-founded the establishment Beats Electronics with Jimmy Iovine -- and made millions on its 2014 sale to Apple. In 2008, Dre extended his hip-hop variety when he initiated Beats Electronics with record producer Jimmy Iovine. He debuted the company's audio line with Beats by Dr. Dre Studio headphones, which became wildly popular, and were followed by more successful products endorsed by pop and hip-hop artists. The online music streaming service Beats Music was also launched in January 2014. The two partners have also funded The Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy
