Gangsta rap pioneer Dr. Dre aka Andre Romelle Young was born on February 18, 1965. He grew up in Compton, raised mostly by his mother (after his parents split up).

They moved around frequently, and finally settled in the Compton area. At Centennial High School, Dre showed lots of talent for drafting, but he paid very little attention to his other course work. He transferred to Fremont High School and then went to the Chester High School. He had very less interest in schoolwork, he wanted to make music. Dre then got a music mixer for Christmas in 1984 and soon turned his home into his studio.

Dre started going out to L.A. Nightclub more often, where he got his chance to sing, dance, act, in front of people when he joined the “World Class …show more content…

Dre is also an inspiration to people that are poor, he said that he used to do $50 a week and now he earns $19.66 per second. Not only that but to help those people he donated $1 million dollars to pay for hospital bills, schools, and funerals. Dre and Jimmy Lovaine also donated to the University of Southern California $70million. The money goes toward giving students the opportunity to learn marketing, business, design, and liberal arts. In fact, Dre also made a donation to help Los Angles be a safer city. Most rappers are sometimes decent people. Sure they smoke weed, but there’s always more than
