Lately, while practicing my mindfulness it has been very interesting nonetheless. I still continue to do driving mindfulness because I feel that it helps me focus more on the present moment. I do this on my way to my internship and on my way to class. This has helped me become more relaxed before attending those two places and not feel stressed out. While practicing the mindfulness while driving it has helped me connect more with myself and the nature around me. I truly love the outdoors and this has helped me by focusing on the moment and capturing the nature outside. Along with, I have been trying new practices of mindfulness compared to just sitting meditation or the body scan meditation. I have been attempting each day a new meditation
"Distracted driving is not only texting, it can be a combination of many things. Anytime you take your focus off the road you are considered a distracted driver"(Teddi Dineley). "Each time you take your focus off the road, just for a second, you’re putting your life and the lives of others in danger" (Teddi Dineley). As stated in the article, “Distracted Driving: Stay Focused When on the Road,” written by Teddi Dineley Johnson, driving a car is a very complex task.
In chapter 4 it talks about how we can practice being mindfulness with connecting mind and body together. To able to take in every moment in life one needs to enjoy every moment without our mind wandering off when we are doing an action. The body is great to practice being able to be mindfulness because it is something that will not go away. The author explains in the chapter that sometimes a way to came back to the mindfulness state is by breathing in and out, which leads to concentrate again. Another point made is that mindful attention to sensation requires you to take the time to actually experience the sensation. An example is when cooking you can practice mindful attention by smelling the different faces the food you are cooking goes
I am here to tell You that you should not text and drive because it distracts you, causes accidents and limits your driving ability. The first reason I think you should not text and drive is because it distracts you. You must look at your phone for long periods of time. Another reason it distracts you is because you have two hands on your phone instead of having two hands on the wheel which means you have no control. The next reason it distracts you is because you can not look at phone and road. Trust me I know you think you are a good driver, but you are still young and inexperienced. The next reason you should not text and drive is because it causes accidents. One way I know it causes accidents is because according to the TeenBiz article,
Driving is a skill and a necessity in today’s society. As with everything that is designed to help people there are those who take advantage of it and put others in danger. According to a study done by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (2017) some of the most dangerous driving habits that occur in the United States are; speeding, distracted driving, and driving tired. To improve our society we need to focus on these habits and try to break them. In doing so, it will make traveling by road much safer and will reduce the number of people that are killed in motor vehicle accidents.
In Cormac McCarthy’s well-renowned novel titled The Road, McCarthy constructed a post-apocalyptic world overflowing with the fundamental elements of the characteristic dystopia we have discussed throughout the semester. Despite the hopeless nature of a dystopia, McCarthy somehow managed to incorporate numerous meaningful displays of humanity into the storyline between the two nameless protagonists who are referred to as the “man” and the “boy”. In addition to the humanity the protagonists exhibit, McCarthy includes an equal number of scenes that parade the most appalling, barbaric spectacles in literature. By adding such revolting scenes into the book’s plot, McCarthy effectively revealed the
Give new drivers simple, clear instructions not to use their wireless devices while driving. Before new drivers get their licenses, discuss the fact that taking their eyes off the road – even for a few seconds – could cost someone injury or even death. No one should text and drive.

When you get into a car are you telling yourself that the road has your 100% focus? Most likely not because our own mind, our own thinking can distract us from keeping that focus. Have you ever thought about something so hard that you were pretty much zones out and your friend is standing in front of you waving their arms to bring you back to earth, now think about that happening while you are driving, scary, right? Our book talks about divided attention and how when we are driving the distraction can easy become the primary task with driving to be the second. There is only so much that we can truly do to help decrease the likelihood of distractive driving. Because you can fight or stop the distractions. When you let, something affect your driving you are putting yourself and others into danger and that again is a choice that you are making. Whether something bad does happen you the driver allowed the opportunity for something like that to happen. While doing some research, I found this idea that when an accident happens because of distractive driving? Does it truly make it an accident? I don’t know so, because again the driver is aware that if they reach down to grab their drink or check their phone they are leaving the door open for error. Making what we like to call an “accident” truly a crash. It wasn’t an accident that you looked at your phone or looked down to grab a fry, but it also isn’t an accident then you rear end the car in front of
The point of mindfulness meditation is to train the brain to stay in the present moment. When someone is living in the moment, worries about the past and present disappear. A daily meditation practice has benefits for people when they go out into social situations. There are different meditative techniques that involve breathing, body awareness, and meditation can be done in a chair, floor, or even while commuting to work.
Zeidan et al. (2014) concluded that twenty minutes of mindfulness meditation significantly reduced state anxiety in each session that meditation was practised. After each meditation training session there was a decrease in anxiety. In MRI session one four subjects showed results of decreased anxiety and nine subjects in MRI two. Throughout the four days of training results also showed that mindfulness levels increased. The average of the mindfulness levels increased by 14% (after
Even though conventional characters are contradicted by irrational or unconventional characters., Yes because these characters teach the reader that in order to find yourself one must take a journey. because These characters are a product of society's inability to accept rebellion, these classic books from literature teach you optimism a noble trait., and The Catcher in the Rye is about mindfulness and discernment, which is a major burden for high school pupils to learn and establish..
I was assigned to practice some form of mindfulness with choices of a range of meditation, formal and informal mindfulness practices, and to keep a journal of my experiences. Although I have tried some of them to keep myself more aware and present at the here and now moment since several years ago, I didn’t really know that some of the things that I had done are parts of mindfulness practice. I, also, have noticed that I was more interested to do the informal mindfulness practices than the formal, which can be because of my personality and how I was raised. My family love nature, and since I can recall we went to the nature and had outside picnic with loud music and dancing around. I think that is one of the main reasons that I felt more comfortable to practice the informal mindfulness to be present at the moment and improved my level of acceptance.
One of the greatest things that teenagers look forward to is getting their driver¡¦s licence and getting the freedom to do whatever they want. Ever since graduated licensing began five years ago, on April 1,1994, many people have made good and bad comments about it.
I have a somewhat regular, yet sincere contemplative mindfulness practice that helps me understand why I experience life the way I do both internally and externally. I get to see my own urges, those I'm not really aware of such as the urge to multi-task. Practicing mindfulness meditation and other mindfulness practices I learned to become in touch with my own urges and to control them through awareness and self discipline. So, here are a few reflections for your coffee time. As you sip on your deliciously made aromatic coffee, tea or hot cocoa accept these thoughts for your reflection.
I started learning to drive when I was fifteen and a half years old, as most people do. I was eager to get my temporary permit, and didn’t waste any time testing for it as soon as I could. I went out driving for the first time the very next day in my city’s middle school parking lot with my mom.
