I’m applying for the positions of a Cymbal section leader and for Drum Captain. The reason I wish to apply for section leader is because I feel that I could make the last of my year very successful but teaching the all of my skills to the new coming people who are on the line. This will be my last year as a Cymbal player and I want it to become the best year ever, not everything is going to be perfect but there is always room to improve. I’m also applying for Drum Captain because I feel that I can be able to turn things around for the better and try to prevent things from becoming worst. By being both Section leader and Drum Captain, I can bring out the better in everyone by answering questions that no one will probably answer and pushing everyone to …show more content…
If I was section leader I would motivate my own section by finding ways for them to strive further than they expected. I would learn more than my limits by watching videos or just by watching over groups in person just to show my own sections that they can learn more than they actually think. If I was Drum Captain and I needed to find a way to motive the whole band I would try to get to know every individual and find things that intrigued them. The reason for that is so I can have ways that do motivate them and try to convert that to band. I wish for everyone that joins the program to be Everyone has weaknesses and they can always be fixed if people put in enough effort just to fixed it. I have a weakness and my weakness is being to honest with everyone. I tend to be honest with everyone and I get to the point where I could be too honest with people and possibly make them cry. I never try to make people cry it’s just by me being honest, I sometimes would mention things at a wrong time. To try and fix this problem I would avoid from saying unnecessary things. The only time I would try to speak is when it has to deal with the situation at that
I would like to start by saying I would like to say that being the drum major for our marching band would be an absolute honor. Being Drum Major is one of the most important jobs during this wonderful season and would need to be under great care - which I think I’m capable of. This position is one that I’ve cared about since I first stepped out onto the marching field. I’ve always been inspired to be a leader and to endure the heavy, yet rewarding responsibility. So, what leadership would I bring to the field if I were selected as Drum Major? If I were selected, I would lead by setting an example, yet staying humble, and charismatic.
The guard revoted and the winning vote was me. All the girls saw me as their savior, and I was not going to let them down. They were my babies and I was going to lead them to success. The girls became confident and felt better having me as a captain. Some qualities that I have that made me be a great captain was being on task. I could slide a few jokes but i'd never get off track. I also never really yelled at them or raise my voice, i'm usually calm and mellow. Which for me was good because whenever they goofed around I would slightly raise my voice and they would all get scared and know I was not messing around. I also did not have a problem with any of them and I got along with all and was their friend, if they ever needed anything. I think the same applies for band because I have no problems with any of the band kids because i'm well known and liked. I also don't let anyone bring me down and I always speak up for myself or for others. I think my personality and characteristics give me an advantage of being in the leadership spot of drum
Being involved in several activities at Skutt Catholic aspire and motivate me to reach and strife for success and accomplishment. A prime example of my accomplishments are shown in the band program. My commitment and passion for band goes deep within the band program. I strictly practice self discipline of constant repetition and long dedicated practices in order to receive superiors in districts and an alternate position in the Nebraska Allstate band my sophomore year. As a the drum major of the marching band I had to uphold several leadership skills that require essential attribute to the position. These essential attributes include excellent musical, marching, organizational, and communication skills, as well as a servant-leader attitude. Being the leader of the band demands that I become the best role model I can be for upperclassmen. For instance I am the first to arrive and leave at practices, I must always maintain a positive attitude at all times, and to humbly go the extra mile to serve the band. Another activity that symbolizes my character was football. Football was both a mental and physical struggle, but what truly motivated me to strap on the green and black helmet everyday was my deep respect for my loyal teammates and legacy of the football program built at Skutt Catholic. During
Am I applying for Drum Major? I am gladly applying for Drum Major, I have been preparing myself mentally and physically. I know that conducting is just a little sliver of what the Drum Major does for the band, there is a massive amount of responsibility and mental awareness that comes with the title of Drum Major. Why do I want to become a Caprock Drum Major? I want to help this band to my fullest potential while also gaining experience for my later dreams of becoming a director myself. I want to help lead this band as one
Describe any past leadership positions in the QACPS Music Program and/or non-school related organizations. I used to be the trumpet section leader in Stevensville Middle School during 7th and 8th grade. I help out with the High School uniforms for choir and band ensembles. I got another person's solo in last season's marching show, because they were not able to attend a Tournament Of Bands. I had another solo during Jazz band last year, and worked very hard to make sure it sounded great.
Catapults were ballistic devices. It was invented by a man named “Dionysius the Elder” and created it around 400 BCE. Since then it was a key weapon in warfare. The way it works is that a piece of wood called the arm was connected to a cup shaped bowl but another name for it was a bucket. The bucket was meant for holding the object you wanted to launch. The objects people decided to launch whatever it was it was called the payload. The arm connected to the bucket is laid flat down and springs vertically up once the user pulls a lever to launch or does it manually it will make the object launch in its desired direction. Sometimes there would be wheels at the bottom so it will be easy to move if the target is moving. A catapult was used to fire
For the 2017-2018 SIHS marching band season, I am applying for the position of Drum Major. I am choosing to do so because I believe I am a strong and competitive candidate for multiple reasons. Something I think is very valuable in considering someone for a leadership role is their determination. In marching band, giving up is never an option no matter how hard things are. When you’re in charge of the entire band you can't give up because everyone's leaning back and relying on you.
This is Faith Cox and welcome to my section leader essay. As you may know, I am now a junior in the Lewisburg band program and maintain the position of second chair in the French horn section. Last year I applied as a sophomore, and I can confidently say I have not only gathered more experience over the past year, but I have also become even more passionate about band. That passion has led me to once again apply for section leader. However, this time I am much more matured as a musician, and I am eager to see my section succeed as they have in the past and help them in any way they may need.
For five years, I have been a committed member of my high school’s marching band. For two of those five years, I have been given the opportunity to be the drum major where I conducted and commanded the band. Despite being the only sophomore competing against juniors for the title, the band director saw that I possessed the leadership qualifications needed to inspire the band to work as a single unit. Being drum major, as well as participating in marching band itself, has made me more communicative with other people. As a senior member, the younger students look to me and the other seniors for proper examples of experience. However, as the drum major, the younger members look to me for proper marching technique, advice, and an ear to listen.
On a whim in fifth grade, I decided that I wanted to learn how to play an instrument. I had never thought about how important it would become, but it has become a primary part of my life. I think this reason starts with you. You made learning music more entertaining for 10 year olds who don't have the first clue as to what they're doing. Not only did you teach me the fundamentals of it, but you created a love for it through opportunities and encouragement.
Similarities between Dr.Frankenstein and his creature. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. This paper is going to explare the similarities between Dr. Frankenstein and the creature.
1. What is your main reason for applying to be a leader? In all honesty, the main reason why I would like to be a leader this year is because I love helping people. This past year, they needed any type of assistance, and I love that I was able to encourage them to do their best.
A band director may direct an orchestra or concert band, but is usually not the head of the academic music department. You have to find arrangements for the band and help the students learn to play an instrument., This paper will discuss band direction and music performance; what you need to learn, degrees needed, qualifications, and employment.
Why should we choose you as a section leader? There are so many things that I could say about why I should be section leader, about how I am the most qualified, or why I am the best suited to be a section leader compared to the other upperclassmen. However, I want to answer this question by talking about my experience in the marching band organization and what made me want to become a section leader. In my freshmen year, I was very naive to the marching band as I had little to no prior experience with the marching band other than the one time I performed at a football game with the 2013 band in 8th grade. However, my section leader, May Nakari, helped guide me through basically everything that I needed to know to excel at the activity, from
“Roll those feet! Keep those toes high! Square your shoulders! Keep the tempo moving!” This can be heard by directors, in most marching band rehearsals, as the band is racing around the field while playing mentally demanding music. Competitive marching band, the highlight of some high schoolers’ fall season, is defined by Merriam-Webster as “a group of musicians who play instruments while marching together at a parade or sports event” (“Marching Band”). In comparison a sport is defined as “a contest or game in which people do certain physical activities according to a specific set of rules and compete against each other” (“Sports”). High school competition band is where a band practices from July to November to prepare one show to be
