There were currently two people in a room having an avid staring competition... or at least that what it looked like. The older man decided to speak up first, "Tell me James. How do you feel about reincarnation." James resoponce was only to increase his intense gaze. Currently James was trying to remember anything: who he in, who this man is, and where he is. He came accross no answers to his problem. "Who the hell are you old man." James finally spoke up after thinking about it a while. "That doesn't matter." The man replied with an indifferent look on his face, "What does is whether you want to be reincarnated on not." "What are my options." James came to the reilization that he probabl wasen't going to get any information out of …show more content…
James assumed that in his past life that he saw eagles before, based on how he knew their name, but this one was on a different level. Its full wingspan was around ten meters and probably weighed a ton by itself, not to mention its enormour body. The eagle landing in the nest caused it to shake as if it was hit by an earthquake. Instinctively James knew that this was his mother. Her wingspan was large and provided a roof over the chickes head and her eyes shone with bright intent to protect her children... or maybe that was just because of the species because James noticed that all of his brothers and sisters had the same spark in their eyes. As James looked back at his mother he noted that it was feeding time, this process involved regurgitating food into others mouthes. This disguested James a lot less than it should have. James initial reaction was to leave and find some food on his own, noticing that he was getting hungry. After looking around for a bit James realized that the tree the nest was on was abnormaly tall. It looked twice as tall as a skyscraper and to compound the problem it was at a 45 angle to the edge of a cliff face making the drop to the ground at least 2500
James has no idea that the apartment he has entered belonged to that of William Forrester played by world renowned Sean Connery. Connery does an unbelievably remarkable job of bringing this character to life. William Forrester is one of the greatest authors of his time. Writing and publishing only one book, but this book was of such greatness it left his audience wanting more. A rumor of an additional book had surfaced but Forrester but fell off the face of the earth. Going into a reclusive hiding for no one to ever see or hear from him again. (Finding Forrester 2000)
There he hopes to glean some spiritual inspiration before returning home to start life as a pastor. However, things do not quite work out for James the way he envisions them. Immediately upon his arrival in Israel and before he can even make it to the famed city, he is unjustly thrown into jail, then "sold" into a kind of paid slavery to the business man who ponies up his bail. James is forced to live in a kind of community barracks with other young men in his situation and is sent around town to do cleaning, gardening and an assortment of other odd jobs. As James toils at his labors and interacts with both his "superiors" and peers, he learns a great deal about life in a land where the weak are taken advantage of by the strong and where friendly words and acts of seeming kindness are doled out with an air of class-conscious racism and condescension.
The text states, “Suddenly a frightened cry came from the room across the passage where the children slept… there came a second cry of terror, this time from both children, and stumbling into their room, he felt the beating of wings about him in the darkness. The window was wide open. Through came the birds, hitting first the ceiling and the walls, … while in the darkness the birds rose and dived for him again.(Maurier 49) The theme of this story is survival.
As they continued walking past the bakeries, shops, and bars they noticed an abundance of birds. At first, hardly noticeable, there were the starlings and crows you would usually walk past, however there started to be bluejays and snipes. Which they thought, well that’s strange, why they only are here during the summer and it’s the middle of January. As they continued to walk there was more and more birds. Soon they practically filled the streets. Most of them were crows, however there were other birds such as the summer birds, along with parrots, geese and birds that are only found in other countries.
He is still broken from the death of his step-father and is getting caught up in some bad things. “My new friends and I shoplifted. We broke into cars,” James explains, “Once, a cop caught us up there looking to steal but we had no goods on us,” (139). Here, James is making new friends who are not very good influences. He is not making good choices, and he is finding his identity in what his friends think of him. Everyone at one point or another has done something to fit in. James is struggling with the same thing, he wants to fit in. In the last part of the book, James is an adult still struggling in where his identity should be
The elderly man shrugged and said " look, I didn’t believe any of that stuff either until the first person tried and failed and disappeared in a blinding flash of light and never return again.
I was shocked. The sense of it standing there amid alligators in a freshly weather torn world gave me an immense feeling. It was as if this bird reminded me of shame, shame for being separate, for being human. Together we came face to face, and each sort of gave the other access. Shook, I tried to continue my walk, but I felt like I shouldn’t. The bird and the rest of the swamp, the rest of nature, were all around me suddenly watching.
The program leaders connected with James’ large scale thinking but worried that he missed the smaller picture at times. During a day hike up a mountain three wedge-tail eagles flew over the group causing the group to stop and gasp in wonder. James huffed and said, “Oh what’s the point?!”
There were once four friends named Cole, Anthony, Paul, and Tyler living in the suburbs of Murrieta. They enjoyed hanging out, but could never find anything to do for fun other than listen to music. One day Anthony picked up a guitar and started playing very well. Tyler says, “Hey!! I didn’t know you play an instrument. Did I ever tell you guys I play bass?” When suddenly Anthony had a bright idea and suggested the friends to start a band together. The friends were hesitant because they didn’t think they could create any enjoyable music. Anthony tried his best to convince them since they could all play instruments, and the friends finally agreed to form the band The Furious Four. Anthony was lead guitar, Paul was rhythm guitar, Tyler was bass and Cole was responsible for lyrics. As they began their first practice session the next day, they realized they needed a drummer. Paul says, “You can’t have a good band without a drummer”, so the friends decided to do some searching for a new member to play the drums.
First, the script requires that James have a clear, actionable goal that drives the plot. Right now, James’ only goal is to get to Dallas and pass the school. The story only centers on his difficulties getting to Dallas. The problem is that if that’s the true goal of the script, the trip to Dallas has to be more complicated and James would have to overcome far more obstacles regarding his objective of getting to Dallas for his
He is a young, impressionable man in need of divine guidance that may not be available to him directly through the counseling process. James could benefit from a spiritual mentor; perhaps a member from his church. Furthermore, the counselor may have to concede that individual counseling may not be adequate to resolve James’ dilemma and gently suggest bringing his parents in for a few group sessions if feasible and permissible. At some point James will have to face the fact that he is going to live his life for himself, and ultimately the Lord, and explain his decision to his parents or come to terms that his life is not his own and instead adhere to his parent’s
Jordan huffed, almost annoyed by his random question, “Look...to be completely honest, I don’t even know anymore.”
It is evident that James had failed in dealing with and suppressing his personality. He had
“An eagle? A Hawk? No, it was way bigger than that. I turn and rush toward the pillar as the crowd sweeps forward around me. Someone yells, “Are you nuts kid?” but my brain keeps seeing the wings… A few more feet and I see it - the bird - pressed against the railing. Its wings are enormous! I didn’t imagine it, then. As I run toward it, it stands and spreads them wide, leans out, about to take flight.”
“So, what do you think?” asked Robert, waiting for the response he knew was coming. James stood motionless for a minute in disbelief.
