My first day at East high school actually wasn't that bad. Well I mean the night before for sure was the worst part, the anticipation for sure did not help at all. I could not sleep the night before and I was freaking out, I really didn't want to go to high school. Even though I had my outfit picked out for almost a week and I had all of my stuff ready to go for the morning. I woke up and immediately got butterflies in my stomach. I got ready and walked out the door to my bus stop that was 2 blocks away. Once I got to my bus stop I realized that I had forgotten my tennis racket and bag, I ran all the way home and back. I thought that I had missed the bus and I started to panic. I couldn’t miss my first day of High school. Finally the bus came and I was full of relief. …show more content…
I was alert on where I was walking and where I should go to. I finally found my locker and opened it on the first try I was so overjoyed. My friends greeted me at my locker and calmed me down by saying “It will be alright just wait and see how your day goes”. They really reassured me and I began to calm down and settle out. A teacher told my friends and I to go to the theatre room for an assembly. The assembly was stodgy, the principal Mr. Blake was basically just listing the things we can do and can’t do. Afterwards I found my first class which was Honors English 1. The teacher's name was Mrs.Dunn she was really kindhearted and amiable. Mrs. Dunn talked about her first day at High school and how she went from a private school to a public school, that calmed me down even
The memorable place of Lynnfield High School was the place that helped me discover where I wanted to be in life. After the hard work I demonstrated paid off, I was ready to leave my comfort zone for a new place. Growing up, I lived in a unique town called Lynnfield, located about a half-hour north of Boston. My hometown has countless special qualities that I will remember for a lifetime. The school system has a close knit community because the town only has two elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. My graduating class consisted of less than two hundred people, which is extremely small compare to surrounding towns. Overall my junior and senior years had the most memorable impact on me and my life.
Seventeen year old, Edward Pierce Jr. and best friends, Bobbi Brown and James Farley are nearly done with their last year of school at Pioneer Lake High School. One week before graduation and their descent into the real world, tragedy strikes. James has committed suicide, leaving Edward and Bobbi to pick up the pieces. Could they have prevented their best friend’s death? Are they to blame? Can they handle the loss of a loved one without breaking in half?
Entering into Saint Francis High School can be a bit nerve racking. There will be so many cliques around campus such as the nerds, jocks, and druggies. Not being able to tell which one you may fit into will make high school more intimidating than it really is. How will you know what cliques are a good idea to join? Is it possible to be stuck between two cliques? For any new high schooler, finding the right group of students is all it might take to get you through those four years.
Honestly ever since I was two years old I have been in water, and learned how to swim at around three. I had not learned anything about swimming in Wheeling High School and I can prove that I did not benefit from the swimming sessions. I had already known survival techniques such as not panicking in water and floating on my back to save energy. I already had common sense of not using drugs because I could drown. I had known that many college students go to Lake Michigan at night and die because they can't see or are drunk. To be honest I knew all of these rules but feel maybe Wheeling high school had re-emphasized all of them. I will try to use these techniques at my pool in Florida and continue to teach others how to swim.
Tormented by the dry Texas sun, and the poor soil, the plant life in Eagle Pass High school has no chance. Everywhere you look there is dead grass and dead trees. However, in the middle of a field filled with the dead behemoths of trees, there stood a small struggling sapling.
Conroe High School has many rules. Many are silly and some are actually very important. The one rule I think is silly is being able to get tardies after lunch and it should be changed because some of the Conroe High students eat their lunch in a different room or even a different part of the school, and also the tardies that are possible to get after lunch you can't necessarily get rid of even if it’s because lunch took too long.
When I attended Oroville High School for my freshman year, there were countless numbers of couples that hungout together, including myself and my ex-boyfriend. There was so much pressure for all of the couples to do things and have sex, especially for our friends that were together, mainly because they were freshman and the peer pressure from all of the upper class men highly effected them. A couple that we hungout with at Oroville High always talked to us about them feeling like they need to and about how they don't know if it's a good idea or not. We always told them to follow their gut and their hearts, do what they feel is right. The main problem was that all of the higher classes always said, "wow dude, you're lame, you're not cool" only
Public school students are being put under outrageous amounts of pressure to do well on their tests and quizzes. As an A-average high school student at Pottsgrove High School, I know what it is like to waste 3-4 hours memorizing meaningless material so I can regurgitate and write on a quiz or test. Pennsylvania puts so much emphasize on learning but instead of teaching us meaningful lessons, we are taught the strategies of taking quizzes and tests. This is not promoting students to their full potential, but simply rewiring our adolescents to simply memorize and throw away.
Established in 1876, the school was relocated once in 1905 and again in 1928 to accommodate the growing student population. The first building to house Fairmont High School was the Second Ward Building on the corner of Adams and Quincy. Between 1872, when the building was constructed, and 1892 the building jointly held the public and normal schools of Fairmont despite the public school and normal department's separation in 1875. Fairmont High School was founded in the Second Ward Building in 1876, and the first graduating class consisted of four students in 1877. Increased enrollment and the need for additional facilities eventually lead to the construction of a new
What does school mean to you? Is it about what you learn or what you do? School is getting distracted more and more every year because of the occasions that are being made. The problems with events that have no educational value have a negative impact on Woodlynde. The events such as non-academic field trips, concerts and dodgeball tournaments eliminate the time we could use to learn. They are pointless and not a part of learning for the future. I believe Dr. Fulco and Mr. Shank should replace the non -academic events with actual learning events that teach the students. They can also change the calendar of school. Academics will actually teach the students and prepare them not just for the future, but also what every students wants to achieve.
As a high school student, I am dismayed to say that I believe much of my time has been wasted fulfilling the demands of classes that were not valuable to me. I believe it would be smart to acknowledge that students may sometimes have preexisting knowledge that is adequate for a subject and that they should be allowed to “Test Out.” All schools have required classes that any student who want to graduate must pass. I have spent countless hours filling out papers and doing busy work, all of that being time that I could’ve used to pursue my personal interests or god forbid, get some sleep. I understand that this is not the usual case but I think many of my classmates would agree that they have experienced at least one class in which they didn’t learn enough to justify an entire semester or year of sitting in a desk.

While most people tend to overlook it; Smithville High School has an issue with drugs. The drugs are negatively affecting the students taking the drugs and the students surrounded by others doing drugs.
Hi. I am Diamond Johnson. I’ve been attending HSS-High since seventh grade and now I am currently a junior. I think I am a good role model at Harmony because I’m a very outgoing person and I also play sports, so I show others that you can be an athlete and also be on A/B honor roll. I am the captain of the basketball team because I have good sportsmanship and Leadership skills. I always encourage my other teammates or help them in an area they aren’t good in instead of judging them. I don’t just associate with people in my grade level I am opened to talking to anybody just so that they know that they will always have a friend to talk to. At Harmony we the students tend to create our group of friends based on race but I try to hang out with everybody just to show them that Harmony is a diverse school for a reason, so use that opportunity to learn about each other. I also believe that being a role model is not just temporary because someone is always watching your every move to learn from you. Therefore, they cannot learn from bad examples so you should always do the right things behind closed doors.
