I saw several cannons that were used during battle. There were some on both sides indicating the Confederate and the Union side. Also, the cemetery, where soldiers, families, and veterans were buried. The cemetery was really big and I did not expect that. I think I saw somewhere at the site, it said there was more than 6,000 soldiers and about 1,000 veterans buried there. The Hazen Brigade Monument was also something that I saw and found interesting. I found this interesting because it said it was the oldest standing and intact monument from the Civil War era. This really impressed me because I did not know that we had something really historic in our state. It is amazing to think that Tennessee has something so precious and valuable on our land. There was a stand that had a little background about it and I read that 113 soldiers were killed and wounded in that

Memphis, Tennessee is a city that I hold dear. Sure, it is riddled with crime, the roads are terrible, and the cost of living is high. However, the rich history and vibrant atmosphere is what draws so many to this marvel of the mid-south. There is nothing quite like walking down Beale Street after enjoying some of the best barbeque available, dipping in and out of bars to feast on the almost constant live music of all genres. The unique smell of smoked meats mixed with stale beer brings me home whenever I catch a whiff.
Besides from the Civil War Texas is still known for many great things. The controversy in the 1850s has since troubled with the shaping of this state. With the division from the North and South and an increase in slave labor. Texas saw potential with the demanding for cash crops and became known for its delivery of cotton . The production of cotton is still favorable today. Cotton is one of the main reasons to where the United States upraised it’s wealth. Southern States like Texas, Arkansas, and even Mississippi all pay tribute to the expansion of cotton. Texas obtained a major growth by the 19th century due to the increase in need for slaver.. An increase for slaves had drastically increased after the 1836 Texas Revolution war.
The Battle of Bentonville, Bethania Historic District, the Biltmore Estate, The Blackwell and Company Tobacco Factory. Without forgetting about the great USS North Carolina (battleship)
I know during the early 1900’s Tennessee’s population was on the rise, but I think this is still the state I would have chosen to
Everytime my family goes to Gatlinburg we go to a very significant place called Cades Cove. Cades Cove is out in the prairies where the pioneers used to live. Not only is interesting to learn about the pioneers, but also get to physically see how they lived. It is truly amazing to see how they did it and how they accomplished the things they did. Although you are learning a lot of history in Cades Cove, the scenery and wildlife is also astonishing. Cades Cove is filled with nothing but pretty flat fields that lead into huge glorious mountains. Cades Cove also has many wildlife someone might be lucky to see such as: deer, bears, wolves, coyotes, and many more. Therefore if you ever go to Gatlinburg, Cades Cove is a place i would not miss out on.
I visited the Stones River Battlefield located in Murfreesboro, TN. I chose this locating, because it was close and convenient for me to explore in-between classes one day. I actually learned quite a bit about the land and what took place there in 1862. Some information was giving to me shortly after I enter their visitor center, and I was guided in the right direction to help me with my paper.
The Stones River National Battlefield was my choice because it provides lots of useful and interesting information about the War. It has great significance to it and the history of the location and what went on is very intense. The people who work at the location has a fair amount of experience and can provide you with any information about the war. They provide many examples and show lots of samples of the things the soldiers ate or carried with them including the bags and framed weapons. The stones River Battlefield is one of the most ancient places of Murfreesboro, TN. I have been to this location several times for field trips in high school for my American History classes. We would split up in groups of five and tour the museums and trails.

The Tennessee Centennial Exposition was commemorating the history of the state. The exposition was developing the state’s natural resources, encouraging foreign investments, and increasing the state’s population. It promoted their devotion to the New South belief of industrial progress, racial harmony, and national reconciliation. Evidence of the assurance of industrial progress in the New South: automatic brick makers, telephones, gasoline engines, electric dynamos, and electric lights strung on every building. Race relations in Nashville initially remained fluid
The American Civil war still remains as the most significant event in Alabama's history. The war created friction against unionist and secessionist. The civil war ended slavery . The civil war encouraged industrialization. Alabamians came to identify themselves as if they weren't Americans but as southerners, fiercely loyal to their lost cause.
