Week 4: What an amazing week I have had. My children are on holiday, we have had a lot fun activities to do as family. Holidays are the only times I get to spend with my children as I work from Monday to Friday. I have also taken some time off work hence I am not as stressed as I am most of times. However I tend to manage my stress well by practising. I really appreciate your feedback and the guidance given during this course work. The cause of bad health for millions of under privileged population is poverty thus poverty and poor health worldwide are inextricably interconnected. The causes of poor health are rooted in political, social and economic injustices. Poverty is both a cause and a result of poor health therefore it increases the chances of poor health. Communities are enslaved in poverty hence poor health is the end results of poor nutrition because the community can’t afford a balanced diet. Infectious and neglected tropical diseases kill and weaken millions of the poorest and most vulnerable people each year, for example in Zambia children die from a preventable disease called malaria due to poverty. Grameen- Danone Foods limited has embarked alleviating poverty in one of India’s poorest community by supplying yogurt that’s packed with a lot of nutrients and vitamins at a very cheap price. This enables the company’s underlying motive and the rationale behind producing yoghurt for a social cause lie in the irrefutable relationship that exists between poverty and health.
