Malcolm X once said “ Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.” Malcolm is saying that having a formal background in education prepares people for the future. Choosing to attend college was one of the most important decisions I have ever made. I chose to attend college to increase my knowledge, find a career, and to make difference in society.
By pursuing a degree in college I am trying to set myself up for future success. In order to be qualified in my desired profession I must obtain a four year college degree. This requirement pushes me to expand my knowledge through all of the general education requirements. In return I end up having a strong background on information applicable to my career. As soon as I begin my career exploration outside of college I will be prepared because of the education I have received. When classes start for my desired major I will have a rigorous course schedule to teach me everything I need to be ready for my job.
