If there is not effective communication between team members, there may be a lack of clarity on each members roles or responsibilities he or she are to assume (Joseph, 2017). “Organizational leaders can enhance job satisfaction by providing training for employees and making sure that employees are used in jobs that draw on their strengths and abilities” (Fischer, 2012). Ineffective communication in the workplace can lead to conflict between employees and management within an organization. When someone’s character, integrity, or work ethic has been brought into question due to ineffective communication, morale is low, job performance suffers, and workplace relationships are destroyed. “Can two walk together, except they be agreed (Amos 3:3, KJV)? Today, nurses rely on patient care technicians to assist in providing patients the best care possible. Ineffective communication between registered nurses and patient care technicians plays a critical role in having improved information flow, effective interventions, enhanced employee morale, improved patient safety and patient satisfaction (O’Daniel & Rosenstein, 2008).
Communication skills are very important no matter where or who you are. Communication within a workplace can determine whether a business or individual is successful or not. Understanding effective communication in a medical setting helps hospitals and doctor offices develop a work environment that is able to communicate effectively with coworker, patients and doctors in order to take of the patients needs. Listening, clarity and Patience are three main keys to effective communication within a workplace. In this paper, the author will describe an experience within the medical field work place where communication was effective.
Effective communication is paramount when developing positive relationships with everyone we come across, whether it is a child, young person or adult. For children and young people it is very important that we use effective communication to help them learn and grow, the way we talk to children and young people and what we do with the information we gain from listening to their needs will have a huge impact on their learning experience. It is also important for the safety and wellbeing of children and young people we work with, we need to take any information given and use it to protect them whether they tell us something is wrong or there are other signs i.e tone of voice and body language, its important we know. Communication is the conveyance and flow of ideas from one person to another. The exchange of information takes place through letters, words, symbols and nonverbal behaviors. It involves the transmission of ideas from the sender to the receiver. Communication is effective only if the receiver fully understands the transmitted information. Many problems and failures occur in organizations due to poor communication. Objective and goals fail due to misunderstandings in the organization. Effective communication provides a chain of understanding to all participants in the organizational framework. It promotes the flow of information both vertically and horizontally.
Efficacious multidisciplinary communication and collaboration amongst those involved in the provision of patient care is linked to improved patient outcomes, moreover, collaboration and communication are the most effective deterrents to medical mistakes (Lancaster, Kolakowsky-Hayner, Kovacich, & Greer-Williams, 2015). Frequently, unresolved conflict leads to ineffective communication and inferior working relationships that affect patient safety and care quality. Continuing conflict between caregivers will erode trust and consequently, result in ineffectual team dynamics that may lead to a decreased quality of care and patient harm (Bowers & Ferron, 2014).
All the task and transaction that requires more than one person can only be successfully completed with communication. Communication is sending and receiving information between two or more people. Human communicate with others not only face-to-face communication but also by giving information via Internet and printed products such as books and newspapers. The significance of communication is like the importance of breathing. Of course, communication helps to getting knowledge and forms relationships between people. Communication not only helps to spread knowledge and information among people but also makes it easier and faster to contact with people around the world. Children that cannot communicate or express themselves properly often find it hard perform well in school and form relationships because of their speech, language and communication difficulties. Poor communication skills are often overlooked by parents since most of the interactions between parents and children, if any, take place in an informal setting. Parents are happy when children come home with good grades in science based subjects but don’t really put a lot of emphasis on language skills. This means that the effects of poor communication skills are often noticed later in life when children begin to interact with formal settings that require formal communications.
Within this small exert of conversation it can be seen that there are several times where I exerted ineffective communication. The first was which this is done can be seen within C1, from the very beginning of the conversation I conveyed hostile nonverbal. My mood was hostel and therefore my nonverbal were acting in the was of repeatedly conveying this to the receiver, staying congruent with my mood opposed to contradicting it (Hayes 1994). With crossed arms and a hostile demeanour it was obvious conflict was about to ensue because of my hostile nonverbal behaviour, this crossing of the arms is known as an alter-adaptor. Effective communication skills are the building blocks in a workplace environment. Understanding how to express an issue professionally is a skill that each employee must know. Many businesses will invest into training classes on business communications so their employees know how to effectively communicate with others. The benefits of effective communication can help businesses develop a workforce that is able to communicate effectively with not only coworkers but customers and suppliers as well. My experience with business communication is not set in the typical office environment.
According to Kavaler and Alexander (2014), “In healthcare, standards are statements concerning proper procedures and/or actions to be taken in given clinical or administrative situations” (p. 29). In healthcare facilities, there are several standards and guidelines that must be followed to perfection to ensure that patients, staff, clients and the whole organization interests are safe. Failure to meet the required standards, can cause legal problems to the healthcare facility and put patients’ lives at risk. Notably, there are several factors that can lead to adverse events, for example, lack of communication between staff or between staff and the patients, and fail to follow prophylaxis procedures to newly admitted patients. The interaction of several risk behaviors and failure to meet standards of care can lead to adverse events that can harm patients, clients or entire organizations.

Communication in verbal and written form is difficult for me to convey to others. I am the person whom will take you to the barn instead of using the direct path. In communication, there are several questions that need to be asked and answered. First, determine the the purpose. Second, determine what are the emotional or physcial needs of the other person being conveyed through dialog. The second stage of communication deals with the perception of the conversatuion. During the final stage assessing whether the point of veiws have successfully been evalutated and all partcipates needs have been addressed through this form of dialog process.
