As the Mesopotamian civilization rose up in the valley of Tigris and Euphrates, the Egyptian civilization was centered on the Nile River. The Egyptians were also a polytheistic religion, in that they believed in many gods. Egyptian Gods have human bodies, with human or animal heads, and wear crowns or thorns. Egyptian Gods were gods of different things such as the sky, sun, earth, and music. The Egyptians worship took place at small shrines; they left offerings to the chosen gods as well as simple prayers. The Egyptians believed that there afterlife was full of dangers, but those dangers could be overcame by magical spells in the Book of the Dead. Also the Egyptians believed in the preservation of the body and that it was essential for the afterlife.

Ancient Egypt is such an interesting and amazing society to study due to the various factors that allowed the city and population to thrive. The culture, quite different to other cultures around the world in ancient times, developed quite unique traditions, technologies and ideas. Small features of this society including aligning the 4 corners of the pyramids and being able to divide the year into 365 days makes it truly fascinating, The main reason that this society was able to thrive and be successful can be attributed to the great Nile River. Due to this people were able to settle which lead to the creation of a surplus, which could be sustained for around 2000 years.

Ancient Egypt is one of the finest examples of an ancient civilization known today. Their culture was one of many marvels. These included architectural wonders like the famous pyramids of Giza, as well as many other mathematical and medicinal advancements. We all know that a society needs a Well-Organized Government and Ancient Egypt well exceeded that standard. To start off they had viziers, who would oversee everything on the land and report to the Pharaoh. Although the Pharaoh would make all of the executive decisions.

Organized Religion, Exquisite Art, and a structured Government demonstrate that Ancient Egypt was a highly advanced culture. Religion in ancient Egypt was both organized and successful in ways of life and ceremonial occasions. Egyptian art was detailed, exquisite and represented how much art showed and was cared for. Government in Ancient Egypt depended on rulers and the form of democracy.

In 3000 B.C. the people in ancient Egypt practiced a polytheistic religion. This religion included over two hundred gods and goddesses that each represented a certain element. These deities were often associated with animals. The gods were considered superior, being able to control life, death, fortune, and the weather. The belief in gods influenced the ancient Egyptians’ thoughts on the afterlife, animals, and worship rituals.

Egypt was one of the most dominant powers in its time. It always changing with its Pharaohs and priests because of what they thought needed to happen or change. When they made laws they told the public that the gods had said that these laws needed to be in place. They happened to have a lot of gods so they could say which god wanted what to happen. This was the same in most civilizations at the time. These laws are what kept Egypt from falling for so long from interior conflicts. I think that this civilization used its religion a little bit to get what they wanted.
