Being who you are and not what others want you to be can show that you are a survivor because it shows that you can overcome anything. Eminem and Ariel both are good examples who lived in a society where they managed to continue to be who they wanted to be.

In paragraph one( From his own mother suing him to being in comas at a young age he has been through it all and not everything in this essay is common knowledge it is available to the public). Maybe this sound a little better (from his own mother suing him for being in comas at a young age, he has been through it all and
The first thing we notice is that he is the only white person there. As we have mentioned before, rap music was pioneered by African-Americans. Not only that, one of the recurring themes within early rap culture was the discussion of ‘whiteness’ and ‘white privilege’ as a contrast to the ‘black experience’ in America. As one of the few active white rappers at the time, Eminem himself spoke about his ‘whiteness’ and ‘white privilege’ in order to break the ice and be accepted into the rap culture. He often used his own life-experiences to talk about how the ‘system’ was unjust towards not just African-Americans, but all people who were members of the working classes. Besides this, Eminem pioneered the usage of self-deprecating humour with regards to his racial identity and his ‘unique position’ in the world of rap

Close to the Edge: The Representational Tactics of Eminem a comprehensive essay written by Marcia Alesan Dawkins, provides a concrete, insightful examination of the strategy and tactics used by a Caucasian artist to integrate himself into the predominantly African-American and Latino dominated sub culture of hip-hop. The purpose of this document is to illuminate the methods utilized by what Dawkins calls the Other to seamlessly sneak into a racially charged social group and gain acceptance amongst its critics and audiences. This is someone who would otherwise be labelled as an outcast from the point of view of its patrons. Such methods draw from Michel de Certeau’s stages of cultural navigation, which Dawkins makes use of to support the
