PCS Edventures promotes hands-on, project-based learning as a means of helping students develop the foundations of scientific inquiry, engineering design and computational thinking while exercising 21st century problem-solving, communication, reflection and collaboration skills. Our content is designed to integrate instructional goals into application-based learning experiences. With the freedom to experiment and design, students gain the tangible benefits that come from frequent analysis and reflection.
When it comes down to it, effective instruction for innovative design and deep understanding of technical concepts is all about engagement. It's been found that when students are directed by an expert to follow a pre-established sequence of instructions, it generally does very little to encourage

The LABCard approach is intended to provide a tool that enables a more student-directed experience. Educators are empowered to provide more facilitation, coaching and mentoring as students work independently and in their own fashion. Almost all learning environments, including after-school programs, clubs and a wide variety of classroom models, can utilize LABCard curriculum.
With the PCS LABCards, educators can take advantage of a differentiated instruction model where challenging concepts are broken down so students can quickly master skills and move forward. Each LABCard is assigned a point value for quick and easy assessment of progress through each level and to provide students with immediate recognition of their accomplishments.
Students earn 5 points for each card they successfully complete. Each level includes four, 5-point cards and culminates with a 5-point end design project, for a total of 25 points per level. By completing all four levels, students can earn up to 100
The activities offered from this unit worked to remediate the content that was presented on the pre-test and some additional concepts. Paula scored well with the trace worksheets that identified the parts and needs of a plant. However, on one worksheet, Paula was unable to fully identify the 3 needs of a plant in a sentence even though she previously traced the word on the same worksheet. Instead of fully identifying the 3 needs, Paula only identified two in the sentence. These actions made her receive an 83% on this worksheet. Additionally, the student was given picture cards that depicted the sequence of how to plant a seed. Paula sequenced her picture cards a total of three times before correctly sequencing the picture cards. Paula incorrectly sequenced three cards the first two tries, and one card for the last trial Paula ended up getting a 75% for this independent activity. Paula required constant observation and guidance to assure that she was keeping up with her peers. This showed me that Paula struggles with keeping up with her peers and requires guidance to assure an understanding of the directions and concepts taught through the
Identity V. Role Confusion It is the crisis we as adolescents experience when trying to find our identity in society.I know I have .Over the years, found myself changing a lot . I was trying to figure out who I was and how I fit in.
Increasingly, there is a large dependence on technology today as opposed to ten or twenty years ago. Technology has changed a lot of how life is lived today. It affects shopping, job seeking employment opportunities, entertainment and academics. There is no doubt that technology has set its foundation and is here to stay. One area in which the effects of technology can be clearly noted is in the lifestyle of children. The addiction to technology by children today has increased over the years. This is clearly seen in the developmental progress of children today. This dependence has greatly influenced how children
The purpose of this paper is to provide the author's self-evaluation of her overall performance and participation in the EDF 538, Instructional Design Summer 2015 course. The self-evaluation serves a two-fold purpose. First, it reflects the author's ability to honestly evaluate her "commitment to learning." Second, the paper serves as a tool for author reflection and notice for improvement.
A transfer support system is critical to measuring the effects of training. Since I am a teacher, measuring the effects of training on students and teachers plays a very important role in my life. This year I pre-assessed all of my students before each unit of study. I used the data from the pre-assessments to determine their level of knowledge about the unit of study. By using the pre-assessment data I was able to write individualized instructional objectives for each of my students. I believe this enhanced my understanding of how diverse my classroom is and how it is very important to evaluate each student individually. This provides support to design well-designed lesson plans and assessment. This year I wanted to incorporate higher
There is no system in education, the money rate can change at any time from the point. Because you accumulate more points, your points will increase in value. To retrieve your points you have to reach 3. 750 points, which is equal to $5. It does not take long to reach the nadir 3.
Once information was gathered students had to choose which presentation tool they wished to use to present their findings such as powerpoint, prezi or hard copy. Student use this technology to bring media and information together to produce a powerful resource for learning and evaluating.
It teaches the student to actively choose alternative strategies when something does not make sense” (powerpoint from class). this give the student student the ability to try and work out the problem aloud without people correcting them or on the spot answering. In this lesson it is also hands on so they can physically move things to try and work out the solution with their

Many students come into an engineering program without a strong commitment to stay in an engineering course and to progress with an engineering degree. For students to achieve the puzzling goal of graduating in engineering requires a strong obligation, and behaviors and attitudes to follow through that obligation. To brace the commitment of the freshman engineering students an innovative project has been developed. The project dares students to develop their process to become a "World-Class Engineering Student". Having freshman engineering students design their individually custom-made learning process as part of a semester long project in the setting of a student achievement focused introduction to engineering course or any freshman engineering course will have an important impact on their academic triumph by improving the students’ confidence and motivation to succeed in engineering. This workshop will show participants how to implement the "Design your Process to become a World-Class Engineering Student" into their own introduction to engineering courses. The first year is the most important time for the Engineering Student .In this duration, student has to entirely set up his/her objectives after the exhaustive research like if someone wants to become a quality control engineer in the world level organization for this he should read about the future and scope of his relevant job position by taking the counsel from alumni, teacher or Senior Quality control engineer having
Demo’s BBQ is a small family- owned business which sells premium brisket and pulled pork sandwiches accompanied by a wide variety of slaws to top your sandwich. Demo’s BBQ currently runs with 8 employees, these employees face a variety of scheduling challenges as most of them are soldiers working second jobs, add to this that at times some of these employees are in the filed or even deployed overseas. The intent of this plan is to focus on ways the company can grow not only in regards to the business itself, but also in regards to customer relationships as well as with developing and implementing new products and opening new store locations.
This article is about a study that was designed to substantiate the positive, long-term outcomes demonstrated by children from economically disadvantaged homes who received a high-quality, early education. This study tracked children who attended The Opportunity Project (TOP) Early Learning Centers in a midwestern city in the United States, they were matched with a like control sample from a local school system, and were tracked from kindergarten through 4th grade. The Opportunity Project (TOP) Early Learning Centers is a charitable project located in a midwestern U.S. state that partners cohesively through public/private partnerships. In order to assess the long-term benefits achieved from The Opportunity Project (TOP), a longitudinal study

Exploration and analysis have been the essence of my life, guiding me through the most mystifying predicaments. In this ever changing world of engineering & technology where each new day sees a spate of new concepts and applications and each passing day makes them obsolete, I always wanted to attain the highest level of excellence in education and transcend new horizons in the chosen field.
