The best day of school was January 3, 2017. That is when I first came to Parras. That day i will never forget. I had just moved from Wilmington, Delaware to Redondo Beach, California. When i got up from my bed, i went into the shower, then i got dressed in my favorite shirt. It was also blue and yellow so that was perfect for Parras. I got my favorite breakfast too, waffles! They were hand made from my dad, who is the cook in my family. Lastly, my mom drove me there. The office ladies told us to came around 9:25 because i needed to get registered and all of that.
When i got to the school, there was a 8th grader named Summer. SHe showed me around and took me to my locker. She also gave me my textbooks i would need for my classes. The bell rung for third period and summer took me to PE, my third period class. Luckily, she had the same class. I didn't get changed. Instead, i waited for summer so she could walk me down to meet coach Coco, my pe coach. She was very nice and really funny. She told me to go wait inside the gym while everyone finished their lap. Summer and her friends walked into the gym and started to play the sport they have been learning for weeks, basketball. I couldn’t play because i didn't know how at the time. Then, fourth period. That was Ms. Kirk’s compacted math class. I didn't really like math, but Ms. Kirk made it fun. In my math class, there were four people who talked to me. Their names were, Evan, Reina, Laxmi and Amelia. At first they just stared at me. But then it was time to go into groups. Evan was very nice and actually talked to me. The same thing happened with Amelia, who is now one of my best friends. Reina and Laxmi just asked to see my schedule so we could see if we had classes together, and we did. Next was lunch. Amelia invited me to sit with her and her friends, who are also now my best friends. So i said i would meet them at “The spot” because it was Wednesday. I was at my locker getting my lunch out and i hear a voice, “Hello. Are you Sofia?” I turned around startled. “Hi i am Erika, Amelia’s friend”.
“Oh. Hi” i said with relief. I thought she was just a random person talking to me. She walked with me as we went to the spot. She was so nice. As i was eating lunch,we
The day was October 8th, 2014. I hardly played. One school day, my 5th teacher, Ms. Smit said, “flyers for the basketball team on the table” ordinarily I took one. Kids from 4th, 5th, and 6th grade came to try out for the team. After tryouts, a paper next to the nurse's office was hung up. The paper sheet named those who had made the team. Surprisingly, I made the team, most likely from my height. I felt like I shouldn’t have made the team. At the time, I barely started to play basketball. I went to the practices at school and tried to make myself a little bit better, since a tournament was about to begin in a few weeks.
The best day I have ever had at Peoria Notre Dame High School was September eleventh of 2014 because it was my birthday.
It was my first day of Grade 10, I didn’t want to go through being that new kid and having the thought of life being so complicated again but this time I had a reminder that if I went through it 6 years ago and turned out fine, I can do it again. It was very difficult at first because I had to spend lunch time alone and no one to talk to in class. I’m a very outgoing person and make friends easily or so I’ve been told, so after two weeks, I have made new friends. Two of the people I had made friends with Helen and Mika, were on the basketball team and I had told them I’ve always wanted to join basketball. They were begging me to join the team. The first day of tryout I didn’t want to go, I've never joined a sport before so I had this sick feeling that I wouldn’t make the cut, surprisingly I did. I was in grade 10 so I was in the junior team but we would always practice with the seniors because my coach wanted us to do really good for that season. On my first ever game, I went on the court with a lot of confidence and didn’t feel anxious at all. I shot two points at my first game and that made me feel so good about myself. I grew really close with my team and bonded really well with them. At the end of the season, we won all of our league games and the championship
“I don’t know her very well. She always waves to me and says, ‘Have an awesome day.'"
The bell rang louder than ever and that meant we had to transition back to homeroom. All of the students huddled into the door frame and pushed and shoved out of the classroom. Me being the smart child just stepped aside and let the stampede pass. When I entered Ms.Erskine’s class, I saw an unfamiliar face sitting next to my other friend Fatim. Fatim and Nevaeh were sitting at the desk chatting away like they were previous best friends. I slowly walked into the classroom confused
Friday- Today my family arrived at our cabin located a few miles from the beautiful Mesa Verde national park. It was late at night, so we all fell asleep quickly.
As I became older, entering my young teenage years in life, I took on the interest of playing sports for my middle school. I remember trying out for the girl’s basketball team in the summer going into the eighth grade. I know I had competition but I felt highly confident from the skills I gained during the previous years. Try outs were all morning and I caused my parents so much trouble from telling them in such a short notice. I anxiously waited for the final results, even though they weren’t posted on the gym door until later that evening. Later on that day I learned that I didn’t make
Wednesday was a great day because I left for sixth grade camp. So instead of waking up at 5:30 like I normally do, I woke up at 4:45 because I was so excited to go! The best part was that I got to sota miss school. When we got down there and we got to go into the cabins, they were huge.
The best day of school that happened to me was that when I was in sixth grade. We got to go to Hershey Park for a field trip. I am choosing Hershey Park because I got to spend time with my best friends. Audrey, Hailey, Macie (my sister)! Just in case you don’t know what Hershey Park is I will tell you what it is. So Hershey Park is a park that is like 10 times bigger than Del’ Grossos! It was so pleasant! So, now I am going to tell you what my friends and I did there.
The best day of school that I have had is, my first day of seventh grade. This was the best day of school for me for three amazing reasons. The three reasons my first day of seventh grade is the most special to me are, I wasn’t going to be treated like a baby anymore, I don’t have to walk in a
Back in elementary school, I met this really friendly girl name Sofia. She was very intelligent and was a great fanatic of basketball. When we became 5th graders she seemed so excited. Everyone would constantly asked her why she was so thrilled about becoming a fifth grader. The reason for her excitement was because once you become a 5th grader, you are allowed to join sports. Of course she was going to try out for basketball, it was her favorite sport. When try-outs day came, she was told that she has automatically made the team because she was so skilled. As the season
My best day was graduating from Goldsboro High School in 2014. Hundreds of proud classmates, including myself, stood waiting patiently in our blue and gold graduation gowns. Preparing for that moment to walking across the stage where I would receive my diploma. While getting settled in, I started to reminisce on all the goals, I accomplished in addition to graduating with close friends that I'd gained relationships for more than four years.
I was the new kid in a small town with no friends. First day of grade 11, only nice thing was it is a small school and easy to understand so I wouldn’t get lost looking for my next class. After long morning of trying to learn the name of the person sitting beside me it was time for the one class I didn’t need to know anyone, Gym. I was one of the Tallest kids witch was nice for most all sports. But all fun must come to an end when the coach of the volleyball team came up to me and asked if I wanted to join the team this year. He didn’t see the team to well with his story about how last year they almost won as many as they lost. I didn’t think much of the offer in my old school I never even tried to play I just seemed dumb trying to keep a ball in the air.
I remember one incredibly funny day from last year. It was the day I fell through the glass display case at school. Boy, I tell you that sucked so bad. I know for a fact I’ll never live it down. I’m known for being pretty accident prone so it was no surprise to people when they found out I was the one who had left the blood stain in the hallway.
One rainy night in November, I arrived to the church gym for my first basketball practice of the season. As I walked in the doors creaked and you could smell the gym floor. As I already heard the basketballs hitting the ground, bouncing up and down. My friends Brittany and Destiny walked in right behind me through the door. That was when we realized we were the only girls surrounded by all guys. As practice came to a start we began to run, it felt like we were never going to stop. Up and down the court as we ran suicides, you could hear the squeaking of shoes as we went from the next line back and then on to the next. Before we started scrimmaging, the two captains were boys. Brittany, Destiny, and I stood in amazement as we were the last three standing there. You could see by their expressions they didn’t want any of us on either team.
