Throughout history, there has been a figure, or role-model, that resembles what it is to live a successful life. An example from old English is the epic poem, Beowulf. Beowulf, as a character, is made with the characteristics that every warrior should live by. He stands for what is right and is unwavered by greed or fear. Beowulf does this because it is his duty. When looking at a modern world a person that replaces Beowulf as a role model entirely. Instead of the one will the most brawn, the role models are those with brains. The people who are able to create a change in the world for the better have become the role model of many. An excellent example of a modern day role model is Steve Jobs. The majority of people who has seen a film has seen the Pixar logo, a lamp jumping on the “I” in the word Pixar. Pixar has created many of the classic childhood movies. Even though Disney bought Pixar just a decade ago, without Steve Jobs Disney wouldn’t have Pixar and many great animated films would not be created. To mention, these films include role models with great traits and without them our children may not have the best morals because they didn’t have a good role model. With everything considered, Steve Jobs fits the role of a role model exceptionally well. The legacy he left behind will be remembered for many centuries and may possibly be studied like the epic poem, Beowulf. As a role model, Steve Jobs shows that to be the best is to be intelligent. To be intelligent requires school and the dedication to learn. We need to think outside the box to create items that will improve the lifestyle of the common people.
