Twang! Tee-Hee! That’s a pretty good explanation of my time at my concert. The winter of 2014, I went to a Dailey & Vincent Concert. It was a Christmas concert, and it was joyous. Dailey & Vincent are a Christian Bluegrass band that are probably the funniest people in the Bluegrass community. They are hilarious!
During the Winter of 2014, the day after we got out of school for Christmas Break, I went to a Concert. First of All, How did I end up coming to a Christmas Bluegrass concert? Well, my Uncle Jim and his girlfriend were supposed to go, but his girlfriend got sick, so they couldn’t go. Well, my grandparents were already going, so they asked my brother and I if we wanted to go. Well, of course we did, so we had to get ready.

We passed time by talking to 2 of the members: Christian Davis and Jeff Parker. Christian used to be the bass voice for the band, but he quit during September of 2015, after my concert. Jeff Parker is the guy that sings really high for the band. I would call him a tenor, but he sings really high. The sad thing, though, is that Jeff had a cold that night, so he didn’t talk too much. By the time we actually got into the auditorium, I was really pumped. I had already known that these people were amazingly funny, so I was prepared to sing along, and laugh until I couldn’t laugh …show more content…
Jamie wrote it with Jimmy Fortune of the Statler Brothers. It was called ‘American Pride’ and it was really good. By now, I know the song by heart, and I sing it all the time. By the end of the concert, I was really excited about the band, and I was like “they’re my favorite band.” It was quite comical, remembering it now. As everyone filed out, I spotted Karly Weigand and her family at the front and I told my dad to slow down so I could talk to Karly. She told me that 1, her neck hurt from having to look up, and 2, she didn’t even want to come, that her family made her come. I wasn’t too happy, but I talked to her the other day, and she said that she did enjoy
For this concert report I chose to go to a performance of student composers held at the Kimball Recital Hall. I chose this one because I wanted to see some of the talent that my peers have in the music realm, and also it was one of the only concerts I have been able to attend because I usually work at night. It was impressive to hear pieces composed by students. I cannot imagine creating something as complex as a musical composition, much less actually performing it, so this aspect of the concert was particularly awe-inspiring. There was a large attendance, and I think that much of the audience consisted of friends of the composers and/or performers. I went with three friends, who I convinced by telling it would be interesting to see
The last act was Denee Weathers, she had a guitar player with her and sung her heart out. Her empathy and the strength in her voice was very beautiful and made her act extraordinary. Weathers songs were unique and personalized.
Rewind to six months earlier, it was Valentine 's Day and my parents were getting ready to give my sister and I our gifts. We were handed a small, narrow wrapped box that contained tickets to the DCX MMXVI World Tour. My parents had bought tickets for them, my sister, and I. This tour was said to be the final tour that the Dixie Chicks would perform and we were going to the concert in Nashville. Since I had a love for the group from birth, I was ecstatic! It was just a waiting game after we received the tickets because the concert was six months
To start with, the festival setting portrayed in the video illustrates the family-like community in Appalachia. Famous bluegrass musician, Ralph Stanley, managed the bluegrass festival from 1970 to his death in 2016. His son, Ralph Stanley II, then inherited the business and continues to direct the festival today. In Appalachia, this idea of passing down a tradition or profession to the next generation was a very common practice. Furthermore, the Ralph Stanley Bluegrass Festival was designed to bring the people of Appalachia together in a fun celebration of their unique music heritage. With the aid of a small stage and
The night had some very special moments when Eric Bazalian joined the group to a rousing ovation for “Time After Time,” “Yeah Yeah,” and “ True Colors.” His exuberance accompanied by a infectious smile captured the fans and he blew us away on the sax, guitar and his signature melodica. We also were treated to a full night of Bob Hyman (Hooters) on guitar along with Bette Sussman on keyboards, William Whitman on bass, Scooter Warer on drums and Keith Mak on guitar. A fine band who Cindy conducted like a symphony orchestra while dancing strutting, jumping and
This trio of unlimited talent gathered on Cornelia’s stage to play standards in such a way that I felt I could stay there all night listening to them.
In a furious hurry after my ride dropped me off at the front of Irondequoit High School with minutes to spare, I sped walked through the doors, into the commons, and straight towards the PAC. I planned to meet two close friends, Claire and Emily. Relieved to arrive with a seat already reserved, I sat down and settled in for a great performance of Christmas Belles. With my expectations set high from the spring comedy I saw earlier this year, I waited anxiously and passed the time by chatting with my friends. People, old and young, packed the seats, which surprised me. I guess I never realized how popular the comedies at IHS were. The lights dimmed. A smooth wave of silence came over the audience. Suddenly, Texas bluegrass Christmas music, or
Facing the bitter cold, we manage to stay a good half-hour outdoors, in the line, to get the free-pass wristband for the awaited marathon.
The show had been in West Palm Beach, Florida, if he remembered correctly. He remembered the concert so clearly for some reason; he remembered the sticky, hot air, and the occasional salty sea breeze that blew through. He remembered the rowdy crowd, he remembered the cheers and funny signs people in the pit held, most specifically one that read 'Fuck me Tré!' in bright blue letters. He remembered, for some reason, especially loving Billie's passion that night, he remembered his heart sweeping with love as it always did as he watched the man he adored do what he did best with such ardor. He remembered wandering into a small sports bar he for some reason specifically remembered to be named Duffy's about an hour after the show had ended and sharing a basket of savory buffalo wings with Billie. He remembered how many times their sauce-covered hands had accidentally touched or brushed against each other when they had both reached for the same wing. He remembered laughing the awkward gesture off unevenly, internally screaming at himself to just tell Billie how he really
On Thursday, September 21, 2017 at 7.30 pm, Mr. Noe Garcia blessed the performance hall of Mountain View College with his Classical Guitar Concert which featured 7 pieces of different composers. The program included Dois Destinos, La Fille aux cheveux, 36 Caprices Op.20, Aires De Son, Sonata Op.61, Sonata K.391, Sonata K.178 and Sonata. Noe Garcia appeared as the Guitar Soloist. I was awestruck by the whole concert, as I got mesmerized by the first piece that he performed.
The audience was fully enamored in the performance these two put on, it was quite probably the most humorous dynamic established within the concert. The two performers ebbed and flowed with each other in a way that illuminated the beauty in each their performances whilst also keeping the audience on the edge of their seats.
I met up with Andy and the rest of the band, except for CC, he had to miss due to a personal fear of ice skating. We meet up at the South Charleston Memorial Ice Arena.
The trio of Patty, Andrew, and Scott had great chemistry, and I could tell that they had been playing together for 10 years. It seemed as if they all played with ease. I noticed that Andrew, the violinist, played with great passion. He used many facial expressions as he played. It is one thing to listen to this music on your phone, but it is much more enjoyable to see it in person. I liked how they described the music that they were playing, and it was nice how they described the different instruments they played such as the viola da gamba and theorbo. The theorbo intrigued me especially because of its massive size. I would definitely go to see them in concert
To begin, this concert's opening acts were exciting and really set the stage for All Time Low. The first band to preform was Real Friends who are from Chicago. The group's sound can best be described as an angsty version of pop punk. Real friends played some of their most popular songs such as “I've Given Up On You” and “Floorboards”. Many of the fans in attendance were familiar with Real Friends so the set was very energetic. In addition, the other opening act was a band called Knuckle Puck, who are also from Chicago. Knuckle Puck put on lively set that really got the crowd
We got to the Murray about twenty minutes before the concert started. So we headed in to find our seats and wait for the opening band to come out and perform.
