Integrative Seminar (Social work) Introduction Every day, families and single adults who have never been homeless lose their housing and find themselves on the streets.According to Todd (2006), homelessness is defined as a person who lacks a fixed and night-time residence or whose primary residence is a supervised public or private shelter designed to provide temporary living-housings. This paper review serves to illustrate my internship experience at City House in Plano. It seeks to describe City House in Plano, give a brief description of how this organization fits into the academic field of community and administrative practice, and conclude by describing how the organization’s issues fits the definition of community and administrative practice, all from the perspective view of my role as part of the evaluation team. They are typically residential, community-based treatment alternatives for individuals with problems that preclude independent living (Todd, 2006). These Programs help address the needs of homeless young adults, majority of whom are running away from unsecured and unhealthy living conditions. They have been confirmed effective at supporting positive youth development, securing stable and safe living arrangements and providing the skills required to engage in positive relationships with caring adults. My Friend’s House program (MFH) encompasses: ‘emergency youth shelter; Abused, Neglected and Abandoned Youth;’ and Runaway and Homeless Youth. This program ‘provides round-the-clock care and services to children ages newborn to 17’ who have sought refuge in the city house due to neglect, abandonment or abuse, or because of the risk of becoming homeless (Todd, 2006, p. 52).
