Results From our group’s I3-29 faunal assemblage recovered from the site of La Réunion, Texas we categorized 0 (0%) cows, 8 (66.7%) deer, 1 (8.3%) horse and 3 (25%) others for our taxon category. Comparatively site section G2-89 only possessed 8 cow bones, 80% of the assemblage, and 2 deer bones, 20% of the assemblage. High-status households at this time tended to get their meats from butcher shops or directly from their local ranches which translates to cattle bone in kitchen middens but these cattle bones were usually high utility.
