“Modest doubt is called the beacon of the wise.” This quote, from William Shakespeare, explains exactly what I thought when I am faced with someone I do not believe in. It was the summer of 2014 when I was the most doubtful. Our family had to move two swing sets in order for new lines in our septic system to be installed. The smaller of the swing sets we gave away as long as the person could transport it. The other swing set is where we had the most difficulty. My father believed he could move the swing set without having to take the swing set apart or without having to get rid of the swing set. I completely doubted this whole idea. This swing set stood at around twenty feet tall with there being nothing you could do to make it any easier. If you tried to push the swing set, it would go top heavy making it fall. If you tried to pull the swing set, it would be too heavy to pull. We debated on how we were going to move …show more content…

My family and I stood by and watched, but not too close just in case anything were to happen. My father tied on the rope to the swing set around half way between the ground and the center of the main tower. He had found a much better location for the rope than he originally spoke of. My father then tied up the truck and started up the truck. At first, the truck did not move the tower one bit, but my father gave the truck a little bit more gas and the tower started to budge. It slowly inched across the land and squeaking due to all the force. It swayed really badly twice, once when he started to pull the tower and the other was when he stopped pulling the tower. I doubted it would work.
After watching something like that take place, you are not filled with much doubt. I doubted my father, and I regretted it. I now know not to doubt anything my father does or says to do because of that event. As Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr. said “When in doubt, do it” and that my father
