The report you are putting together is simpler than it seems. When you turn in the pre-lab, you are turning in the beginning of your report. The pre-lab gets turned in again with your final report. You will have updated the procedure used in the experiment along with any of the other sections. The pre-lab will serve as the front few pages of your final report. Please remember to turn these in!
The Discussion section.
This section needs to be typed to provide uniformity of length. No exceptions. The 2-page, double spaced format works best for me when grading. I am able to write comments in the space between the lines instead of arrows off to the margins. The grading rubric for the discussion section has points for format, scientific content

Your writing skills matter. A discussion can be presented with an introduction, body of discussion and a conclusion. Paragraphs must be used for separate thoughts. Reading one long continuous paragraph that is full of separate thoughts/topics is tedious.
When you discuss the experiment, include the data – the actual numbers, and maybe even how you got them. Use these numbers to help explain your discussion topics. Our reports don’t call for a separate data table (Yay! for those who put one in). If there is something “not right” with your data, discuss why you believe this to be true. “I think we made a mistake.” isn’t an explanation. Use supporting statements for conclusions that you draw. If you use other data, be sure it is correct; include a reference. I will verify whatever I question.
Include observations where applicable. Discuss these. Why were they relevant? Why did the observation occur? Many of you commented on the rainbow effect of the layering but not many fully explained how this was a direct result of the different densities of the
The protein molecules in many foods provide the amino acid building blocks required by our own cells to produce new proteins. To determine whether a sample contains protein, a reagent called Biuret solution is used. Biuret solution contains copper ions. However, the chemical state of the copper ions in Biuret solution causes them to form a chemical complex with the peptide bonds between amino acids (when present), changing the color of the solution. Biuret solution is normally blue, but changes to pink when short peptides are present and to violet when long polypeptides are present.
There are many reasons for identifying an unknown bacterium. The reasons range from medical purposes, such as determining if the unknown could cause ailments in living things or knowing what microorganisms are needed to make antibiotics. The experiment was done by applying methods in order to identify an unknown bacterium.
What observations can you make regarding the gene pool and gene frequency of the surviving individuals?
3. Experiment: Use the Gizmo to find the carrying capacity with Ample, Moderate, and Little land. List the carrying capacities below.
that were not correct and correct them, giving the data from your experiment that supports the corrections.
Answer the lab questions for this week and summarize the lab experience using this form.
You can store them on the domain itself and I would say that this is the same as a PKI server because a PKI server has more of a hierarchal ladder of trust to verify users.
The purpose of the “chi-square test” was to see if our data was in an acceptable range of a specific ratio listed above. The chi-square test took into account the expected deviations in the F2 offspring’s alleles.
This essay is about why lab procedures and practice must be communicated in a lab.
What is the goal of this lab? What question is it trying to answer, or what problem is it trying to explain?
groups. It was conducted to further the research in choice overload and paralysis of the mind.
Discussion: For each half of the membrane, only 1 unique band should appear in each sample lane, and the band should be consistent with other lanes as well. The reason is that a primary antibody can only bind to a specific protein. If that specific protein is present in the sample, then a band should appear. In this experiment, goat anti-rabbit HRP was used to localize the site of the primary antibody.
The purpose of this lab was to create an experiment to test samples of plastic-like cylinders, to see if the different masses had an effect on the density of the objects. The original hypothesis was if the mass of the substance increased there would be no effect on its density. As seen in the data analysis, the average density was 1.7 (g/mL), with only a negligible 0.1 (g/mL) difference across all four masses of the substance. Furthermore in the data, if the mass of the substance increased, the volume increased proportionally with it.
iv. Discussion- Discuss what the results mean for the real world (implications of your study), and discuss what you would do to improve your study (the limitations of your
IV. Discussion: Use the lenses included in the paper rubric, as applicable, and discuss what your research ultimately tells us. Tie it all together. Also include what was missing from your investigation that you wish you could’ve found. Give suggestions for what researchers should examine next.
