The extensive amount of rules and controls of the society Prometheus lives in has lead him to insanity. Prometheus of Ayn Rand’s Anthem society’s amount of control over the community and has restricted the human capacity to a slave like being due to having no choice over what you do with your life. Contrary to the superior’s belief, Prometheus’s vision of his society would make humans able to reach their highest ability and prosperity. The purpose of the numerous rules and controls is to show that as a we all are the same species with the same abilities until another person compares themselves to their brother. Together, we can make the society a better concept. If everyone is brainwashed at birth, they will not know anything past functioning as a whole versus doing things as an individual. The society would be unsuccessful considering at any sign of similarity to his current society, he would attempt to change it. Individualism is the main priority of his society. Prometheus would attempt to be such an individual that he would overlook his brothers’ well being. Prometheus would also aim to assure it is known that he broke the society’s chain of collectivism by making himself and his loved ones superior to others. “We shall never leave this house," we said, "nor let it be taken from us.
