Research has showed that 1 in 3 people in America have tried marijuana at one point in their lives. Marijuana is even referred to in today’s media mainstream sources that people enjoy like cartoons, music, movies, and TV shows it’s sad that you can’t even watch a good family show with your kids without drugs. If we are going to display this on television, we need to talk about the pros, and cons that come alone with it. This is why I am arguing the benefits and hazards of medical marijuana.

When THC enters the body it stimulates receptors in the brain and can reduce pain and increase appetite. Though marijuana, or cannabis, is commonly known as a recreational drug, it has been used as a medicine for thousands of years. Because marijuana can make you hungry, it is also useful in treating conditions or side effects of diseases that cause a loss of appetite, such as AIDS. Another benefit is that you can’t overdose off it like other drugs. An overdose occurs when the person uses too much of a drug and has a toxic reaction that results in serious, harmful symptoms or even death. There are no reports of teens or adults fatally overdosing or dying on marijuana
