The Journey Of Success
What Did Work
At Anaheim High school our students have trouble with reading out loud it the lack of practicing reading what we need to do is implied more reading time so our students can become excellent readers and also it will improve their critical thinking skills. In order to increase student success at Anaheim schools is more reading time i believe that reading helps us with critical thinking and also it improves our vocabulary The Novel Marita’s Bargain is written by Malcolm Gladwell so the first quote that supports my idea of more reading time for our students is “our kids reading skills are on point” the reason for that is the amount of reading they do and this is proof that the, if our students will

dents they’ll see a big improvement what I'm proposing here is that students need to change the way they think in an academic way so like that student are available to improve like how they should and not just stay down knowing that they could’ve done better the quote that imma present to you will show how its students should see challenge “I love a challenge” that’s what students should be saying that a challenge is a good way to self-improve the second quote would be “wow that's a really good score you must have worked really hard” this a mindset that will change how the student thinks by saying who he studied he worked hard to read the grade instead of saying he’s smart his parents must be smart as well that’s saying that smarts are passed on by traits and that how smart you are right now that's ur lifted but it's not you could achieve greatness if you put your mind to it so what this Novel is saying is that in order to become the smart student that gotta change your mindset into thinking that hard things are good and stay stuck and say that I’ll never be as smart as him/her that's not the way to the
Extra Curricular Activities help our students threw out all the schools by giving thema academical change or just change who they are a person if they have behavior problems they could use those classes could give them that drive to be a nicer person and have that skill of leadership that is needed in young kids like one little girl said in the document “My dream is to
Extracurriculars are there for students to enjoy activities other than their academics, but it is also a way to shows that they can focus on education and outside life at the same time. Some students do not take school seriously enough. Coming to school might just be a way for athletes to participate in the sport they want to. Not every students has exceeding academic skills, however, anyone can succeed if they just try. Being able to multitask will behoove the students in the future. Undergraduates tend to separate their school and outside life. Older adults do this as well; but instead of school, it is work they have to worry about. During exam week, students will want to study and it will take away their eating and sleeping time. Eating and studying is a vigorous way to
When students participate in extracurricular activities they learn lessons and concepts of leadership, teamwork, organization, analytical thinking, problem solving, and time management. In high school if a student wants to do a sport or other activity they will pick the activity that they like and enjoy. This is the kind of decision making skill that could help determine the type of career path for a student. By participating in extracurricular activities youth can find something they enjoy learn to use this in a career. “Participating in certain extracurricular activities having to do with the field that the student is interested in could help them find a job. If someone is looking at a resume for a potential employee, and they see they have experience or interest in what they are looking for, they will be more likely to hire that person” (Massoni). Having been apart of a particular extracurricular activity can be a positive influence in a job resume. This will cause students to find a new ambition in a career. Even on college applications these activities will affect if a student will be accepted, and in some circumstances many activities can earn a student thousands of dollars in scholarships (Massoni). Extracurricular activities can benefit students in teaching them long term commitments. When youth participate in
What is work specifically?Work is something that one is engaged in that is a physical or mental activity in order to achieve a purpose or result, especially in someone 's job. When most people think about this word they usually assume , but work doesn 't have to be taken in this perspective.
With a regular schedule for all these students, everyone is expected to simply do the work at home, and come back to school to turn it in and receive more and do the same process over and over. But when there are other activities a child can be involved in, it makes routines have a slight change. Especially if these certain “activities” are being a requirement and not just an option because there are always students who never try new activities and miss out on opportunities. Therefore, students should be offered extracurricular activities in their schools because it gains skills and builds pride to be successful academically in Anaheim. In the documentary, “Mad Hot Ballroom” the director, Marilyn Agrelo, states that “the kids that are
Our client, Sue Davis, was in a car accident in Yankton, South Dakota. Sue sustained massive head injuries, and the paramedics did not think that she would make it to the hospital alive. Once all was said and done Sue incurred $400,000.00 in medical bills, $45,000.00 in lost wages, and $50,000.00 in property damage to her Bentley.
The purpose of this literature review is to examine the benefits and costs of extracurricular activities. First, I discuss how participating in extracurricular activities benefits students. Among the benefits I discuss are academic performance, enhanced self esteem, and respectful behavior. Secondly, I will discuss the cost of participating in extracurricular activities. The costs I discuss are time management, and expenses.
Extracurricular activities are considered an important part of school life at OSHS because of the positive qualities gained from

“Why we work” by Andrew Curry was very informational and resourceful. So it was not hard for me to agree with him about employees being stressed out and discontent with their jobs. Andrew gives multiple reasons to agree with him. Most of the reasons come from experience from my past and present jobs. Others reasons come from economy problems. I agree with Andrew because I to was stressed out and discontent at my past job Applebee's.
Imagine what the world would be like if there were not extracurricular activities such as sports, student government, and other organizations. For example one such organization is the Boy Scouts which has produced many American leaders such as Gerald Ford, Donald Rumsfeld, and Robert Gates. That is just one organization that I would count as an extracurricular, just imagine what the world would be like if extracurriculars like sports teams, student government and other organizations did not exist. Sports and extracurriculars are important in the fact that they develop important intangibles, enable students to get jobs, and produce morally straight individuals.
According to the healthresearchfundation.org, letting students do more of the extracurricular activities that they like leads them to excelling on that
With extracurricular activities, students can be busy every night of their schooling if they choose, and with another day off students can sit back and enjoy high school more. Students can also start on scholarships, in the article Scholarships & Grants for College Students written by Cecilia Barr,“Each year, an estimated $46 billion in grants and scholarship money is awarded by the U.S. Department of Education and the nation’s colleges and universities”
Most colleges look for extracurricular activities such as students who have participated in their share of volunteerism as it helps recognize students apart from the large number of applicants who have applied as well. So if schools automatically had kids volunteer then there would be a better chance (with their GPA’s) to be accepted into the college they prefer. As well, the schools that support the students would have a proud reputation and strong educational ratings. It also helps students develop civic and social responsibility skills and become more responsible in the long run. Therefore these actions allow students to take what they've comprehended and use it apart from the classroom, learning that what they have learned can be used in
The recent Great Recession has caused many lower and middle income families to have problems with their children graduating and having academic achievement. More funding is going towards academic achievement in lower income schools rather than dividing it up among extracurricular activities like clubs, art programs, and all athletic programs. With more and more pressure going towards test scores and graduation rates, athletic funding is dwindling at rates higher than ever seen before as the funding is going towards improvement in the classroom (“Elliot”). Extracurriculars are beneficial to the student as they keep them out of trouble and students are able to form new friendships while demonstrating their passion or ability (“Smith”).
Extra-curriculars are beneficial towards one’s life and future. It has been proven by researchers that extra-curricular activities raise academics, enhance certain life skills, and provide an overall healthier life style, with the addition of it improving college opportunities. Surveys have also demonstrated that participating in these activities can assist you in graduating high school on time.
