Asher was a normal kid, until a new teacher walked in. Her name was Mrs.Waters. She looked like she just woke up, hair in matts, and could not walk in a straight line. “I am your new teacher!” She announced proudly. One of the kids in the class raised their hands. “Yes?” Mrs.Waters asked in the rudest way possible. The kid asked “What happened to our old teacher. She said she had to go to the doctors office.” “Well, your teacher has a permanent sickness called fungli, so she has to stay home”, again she said in rude tone. Asher asked “Why are you wearing sunglasses inside?” The teacher said in her tone “ I am a chromophobic, meaning I have a fear of colors, so don't make fun of me. He had a thirty seven in math. He called his mom and told her the news. She was as red as a hot kettle when she got home. She called the school again. Asher worried about if the teacher was going to still be there. He got no sleep last night. When he got to school, Mrs.Waters greeted him with another packet of work. This time it was on stuff he did not learn yet. He raised his hand. “Yes?” answered Mrs.Waters. “We have not learned this yet. Can you teach this to us?” asked Asher. “NO!!! If you don't know it, just guess! It is not that hard.” She mumbled something under her breath, but it was so quiet no one noticed it. Thankfully his mom picked him up for a doctor's appointment, so he did not have to be stuck with Mrs.Waters. His mom told him he got a call from Mrs.Red, his old teacher. “She said she was on vacation, and she will be back in a week. You can deal with your teacher or you can wait it out. What do you choose?” Asher thought about that all night. What if his mom is right? What would he choose? He went to the office and asked to see the principal. “Sorry he is not here yet. He will be back later.” said the lady at the front desk. “What time will he be back. I need to talk to him about something really big. Can you tell him I need to talk to him about my substitute, Mrs.Waters. She gives us stuff we don’t need and don’t know.” The lady said she would. Later that day he was called into the office. “So what did you need to talk to me about?”
“I got up and pretended to study the pictures on the walls like I was a lover of religious art. When I got to the Merciful Mother right above Sinita’s head, I reached in my pocket and pulled out the bottom I’d found on the train. It was sparkly like a diamond and had a little hole in back so you could thread a ribbon through it and wear it like a romantic lady’s choker necklace. It wasn’t something I’d do, but I could see the button would make a good trade with someone inclined in that direction.

Writing has many tools and devices that can be used to influence the purpose and meaning of the a piece of work. In the two pieces of work, "Private License Plate Scanners Amassing Vast Databases Open to Highest Bidders-which is written in a way that it is anti-license plate tracking- and "Who Has the Right to Track You?'-which is written to be for license plate tracking- many different tools and devices are used by the authors. Also, both articles state how many are opposed to this tracking, arguing that it is against the First Amendment,
The children came walking over to the carpet to sit down for story time. “Miranda.” I said “It is time to join our friends on the carpet for story time.” Miranda walked over to the play kitchen and sat down in a leather chair apart from the rest of the group. While at school in his transitional kindergarten class, Avery becomes increasingly frustrated with himself and suddenly begins to have what others would call a tantrum. Avery’s frustration gets the best of him, and he slaps himself. Other students suddenly stop what they are doing and they watch their classmate. Little do they know that he cannot express himself in the same way that they can; he cannot let go of his frustrations and other emotions as well as they can. They simply do not understand or have a knowledge of what is truly happening in their small classroom. Avery’s classmates laugh at him, and their laughter only makes his frustration worse. The teacher finally becomes aware of the situation and tells the other students to go to recess. Mrs. Green sits with Avery and tells him everything is fine and that their is no reason to be frustrated. Mrs. Green’s efforts to soothe the five year old are not as effective as she had hoped. Avery calms some, but is still shaking. Mrs. Green gives Avery something to drink and says to him, “I see that you were frustrated. I do not want you to feel upset, we are going to say five things that you did well today.” Avery looks at her with tears in his eyes. Mrs Green then said, “One, you put your bag in your cubby without making a mess. Two, you were quiet when we had carpet time. Three, you colored inside the lines. Four, you wrote your name perfectly. Five, you helped Jaycee pick up her crayons when she dropped

Whitney was watching the raindrops slide down the glass like a yound child on a slide. While she was zoning out during her quiz. The questions were terribly hard for her. There was a sudden interruption. It was Ms. Harp. “Listen up, children,” Ms. Harp said with a powerful voice. Whitney looked over at Jake. He was almost asleep. He jolted up and realized that he had fallen asleep. Whitney chuckled. Ms. Harp shook her head. Whitney saw a slight smile creep across Ms. Harp’s face. The class jumped when she said, “I have an announcement to make.” “I am getting married next week, which means I will be out for the rest of the year because-I am moving away.” The children gasped. Her class didn’t know how to feel. Whitney looked at Ms. Harp’s
Of course he remembered and told her all about Josh. Immediately her eyes filled with tears. Little did Josh know that Carter suffered from autism. Josh was a hero to this kid and his mom even though he hadn’t known it yet. Later the next morning Josh gets a call from his head coach. He tells Josh “There is a woman on the phone that wants to speak with you”. Josh began thinking who would be calling him on a Sunday morning. Josh told coach he was just finishing church and he will be headed his way. Once Josh made the trip to coach’s house he ran into his house like something had gone wrong. His coach gave him the phone and said “It’s Karen”. Josh couldn’t think of any Karen’s he knew. He put the phone up to his rosy cheek and said “Hello this is Josh”. Karen began by “This is Karen. I don’t like it but what must be done must be done. “Hi Sally! I’m home” I yell once I have walked into our dorm. But no one is there. Then Sally walks into the dorm not to long after I did. “Hi Sally”, I say once again. “Hello, Delilah”, Sally replies before laying down on her bed. “Sally, what happened to your eye?!” I ask worried. “What my black eye, oh, um…, I had rugby practice today and we were playing rough, no biggie. I am going to shower be right back” Sally replies quickly as she runs to the bathroom to freshen up. “WOW, her team obviously plays rough at practice. My team doesn’t play that rough until the actual games but, oh well, different coaches have different ways of teaching. But i won’t tell her that just in case i ever have to use that excuse” I think to myself. “Hey Delilah, how did you cut your lip? It’s bleeding and swollen!” Sally says, startling me out of my thoughts. “OH, this little thing, … I … uh … I had soccer practice today and when I went to catch a goal, I hit my lip against the goal”, I reply as calmly as I can. “Ok well I am going to sleep now, so, night” Sally replies turning the lights of and her bedside lamp as well. “OK, I am going to study for that biology exam tomorrow, night Sally” I turn my bedside lamp on and reply to
“OK,” said Zach. So he did what he was told and went in the car.I hope,“I get sick in school so I can leave school early,” he thought. And his mom dropped him off at school and went inside with him to see who is his new homeroom teacher and principal. When his mom left his eyes went into shock. Bum Bum bum! His mind said to him,“What am I going to do now?” When he was in his class all the people stared at him because he was wearing sweaters and then everyone laughed at Zach. Then Zack had to sit by the teacher. When the teacher was not in the classroom, they laughed at Zach. When Zach went home, he layed in bed the whole weekend. As he layed there the clock went tick tick tick tick. When it was time for dinner, he
