A lot of key factors would need to be considered when determining if a company is being ran ethically

The challenge they face is that stakeholders may not agree with borderline ethical/legal conduct and not invest in the company. This can lead to image loss and financial downfalls and undermine the entire company.

Under this task I will explain the ethical issues that business needs to consider in its operating activities and how a business they could improve the ethical of their operations and also I will evaluate the influence of stakeholders exert in one company.

“Unethical thinking is not just “bad business”; it is an invitation to disaster in business, however rarely (it may sometimes seem) unethical behavior is actually found out and punished” (Solomon, 1997:17) An ethical dilemma happens when an intricate circumstance which often originates from a struggle amongst the moral requirements of two persons.

The Association of American Educators, the National Education Association, and the state of Tennessee all provide a Code of Ethics for educators. While they appear to be founded on the same principle, they vary on the format of their contents.

College is a place to meet new people, grow your mind and network. College is where you can find a lot of people that have an influence on how your grown and interact with others, interactions are not always pleasant but you must always try your best to defuses so that you come out on top. Not only is it people that influence you but there are also other factors such as environment, athletic issues, finance and personal issues which any and most students enroll in a college or university face. Throughout this class, I also realized there are more ethical issues than I realized. Some of these issues include human resource issues, such as privacy, discrimination, sexual harassment, performance evaluations, hiring, firing, etc. (Nelson, 2007, p. 68). Conflicts of interest are also on the list of ethical issues seen more regularly throughout the business world. Some of the issues that involve conflicts of interest are hard to recognize as ethical problems. Before taking this class, many issues that happened around my workplace were because of conflicts of interest, but I did not view them as ethical issues. Now, when these types of problems arise, I recognize the ethical issue of the problem before trying to correct it. I have gained so much knowledge throughout this course in such a brief time. Understanding ethics will ultimately help me better myself in my career and could possibly bring better opportunities my way in the future.

The problem to be investigated is the application of business ethics. In the business world, ethics are extremely important. Ethics are prime elements that help a business to grow and to become more productive. It is by applying proper business ethics that a business can operate in a moral or ethical business environment and managed to conduct all activities in a manner that maximizes profits while not compromising all other non-economic concerns(Schwab, 1996). Businesses have over the years failed to nurture business ethics in order to fulfill shareholders' interests and to have a culture that is oriented towards profit maximization and high performance(Jennings, 2012; Sims & Felton, 2006). This has led business to have gray areas in their activities. Gray areas are those situations or problems that do not fit exactly into any ethical analysis. These are the activities which may be represented to be immoral as a result of lying and false representations on the part of the business.

There is a fine line between what is ethically right or wrong with an action committed by an organization. According to Audi, “sometimes ethics is compromised without dishonesty but by deficiencies in clarity or candor or both” (Audi, 2009). Being dishonest and not telling the entire truth are examples of ethical dilemmas.

It seems that every day in the news we are hearing of new company that has acted at least unethically and possibly illegally in the operation and financial reporting of their company's business dealings. There are many ethical issues in business. One major issue that we see is over and under reporting net income. Companies like to show that every quarter the net income of the business has an increase or profit. In order to show this they adopt unethical or illegal means in the operation and financial reporting.
