Utilitarianism, in the contrary, is based on the principle of utility or usefulness. Utility is what encourages an agent to act in a particular way (Tuckett, 1998). Utility can be explained as maximizing the good like pleasure and happiness and minimizing the bad like pain and evil, all leading to the greater good for all parties involved. It weights the consequences of the actions equally between the ones involved, and the ethical solution would be to follow the greater good for most if not all the parties involved.

Coaches have a profound impact on their players not only with their words, but with their actions. Coaches have the power and influence to lead their players to become more sportsmanlike by modeling ethical and moral behavior. Coaches have the duty and responsibility to be role models for the athletes. Matheny (2015) states, “We’ve been given the rare privilege and heavy responsibility of influencing young people on a daily basis, for better or for worse, for the rest of their lives” (p. 53). First, I must disagree with the quote mention because yes if a coach makes rules, I’m sure some will follow to an extent. However, the coach must be expect to follow these rules as well and make sure that they are set their foot down when someone is disobeying these rules and not letting their athletes go without a form of discipline because anyone can make rules yet it depends on if the rules are fair and give opportunity for self-awareness with the athlete understanding what error they have caused and how to not repeat the scenario in the future. The standards allow for each coach to individualize what they can do, but it supplies 8 domains and 40 standards that they must take into consideration when they develop a program or even volunteer for a community team. &&Children who take part …I would think that every sports organization should hand a copy of these standards to everyone who comes in contact with athletes.
