First i would like to start with a hand raised greeting. Next I’ll tell you how have my commitments and challenges being gone for those couple of weeks. I’m sure you already guess how hard it was, since one of my commitments was to quit smoking cigarettes. Well, to be honest this past two weeks were very hard . Because as we all know the hardest thing to in life is to quit a habit or an addiction, because it's hard for our brain to function normally without the nicotine or the addiction you have. Breaking the addiction to smoking is never an easy task. There are so many excuses for not quitting while conversely there are just as many justifications to quit. However, whereas some may quit successfully boasting of awe-inspiring feats of willpower others may find that they remain stuck in a continual fluctuation struggling to break the addiction with a self imposed evil that seems almost inescapable.
You will listen to my voice taking you through the changes you want to make… As you are completely relaxed… you will respond to my suggestion… From now, you will stop smoking… This is your wish and desire on which you will act on from now… No one is able to make the change except yourself… Think of the positives gained by yourself in total command… your response is yours only… You are the only benefactor… Think of the harm cigarettes cause...think of lungs being completely black… foul smell from your mouth…your clothes smelling … continue with your breathing in and out...think of your family… Think of spending money on buying cigarettes as money going down the drain…Don’t turn them into passive smokers… your health and that of your family matters…You will continue with further sessions which will help you achieve the change…
Of the roughly 42 million adults in the US that use tobacco, nearly 69% of smokers want to quit and more than 42% of those wishing to quit will make the attempt through various methods(1). These methods range from the "cold turkey" method, nicotine replacement therapy, behavioural therapy and even medicine. Each method has it's unique strengths and weaknesses as well as varying success rates. There are many reasons to quit and many ways in which to do so, either with methods that involve slowly weaning off of nicotine, like gums and patches from replacement therapy, to nicotine-free methods which require support from various sources.
How are you doing today? Feeling better? I personally haven't heard that many good things about the e-cig; in fact, I was recently driving in a car with a coworker who smokes the e-cig and found myself having a difficult time breathing from the fumes. It was so bad that I seriously wanted to jump out the window (lol) and was counting down the minutes till we got to the restaurant. She told me that she is physically addicted to some chemical (possibly the menthol) and has tried many times to quit in the past year. Interestingly, she purchases the kind with 0 nicotine and can't seem to stop. Talk to you soon. I'm sick with the flu and headed to

As I approached my 50th birthday and realized that I'm now a middle-aged man who had been smoking for 20 years, I knew I had to find something that would help me kick the addiction once and for all. I read several articles and books on how to quit smoking, but nothing I read seemed to keep me from going back to cigarettes.

E-cigarettes have exploded onto the scene in the past three years. Whole stores dedicated to these devices have opened their doors to the public and business is thriving. E-cigarettes are battery-charged devices that have an atomizer, or heating element, in them to vaporize liquid nicotine. The user is able to inhale this vapor and get the nicotine without the other 4,000 chemicals present in tobacco cigarette smoke (Schroeder). Nicotine is a chemical that is produced by the tobacco plant. People have discovered that by smoking the leaves of a tobacco plant the nicotine in the leaves is delivered into the bloodstream. Nicotine by itself is not an awful drug as far as drugs go, although it is highly addictive, it is the tar in cigarettes that does so much damage. Tobacco use remains the number one preventable cause of death in the U.S. with 480,000 Americans dying prematurely from tobacco related disease. Kicking this habit remains difficult for most (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services). Mark Twain once wrote “It’s easy to quit smoking, I’ve done it hundreds of times.”

In the early 1980s, gum-like tobacco products were developed for tobacco chewers and snuff users. The chewing gums served as a drug-delivery system for nicotine. By the late 1980s, anti-smoking efforts of health professionals and increasingly stringent regulations against smoking in public places created a new market for nicotine-containing gums. Such "medicinal" gums might help in nicotine withdrawal. The objective was to have the addicted smoker chew rather than smoke, with the hope that eventually the person would become a non-smoker and a non-chewer--at least, a non-nicotine chewer.
