On October 01, 2017, I had the pleasure to observe a wonderful two-year-old class, they were outside on the playground for morning recess at 9:00 a.m. the teacher called for all the children to get on the gate, so they could go inside. Upon entering the building, the children walked quietly down the hallway until they reached their classroom. I noticed that almost everyone went immediately to the restroom area and had a seat on the floor, however there was one little boy who went straight to his water cup and being drinking. The teacher called him over to join the class and he being to cry saying, “I’m want water” so the teacher allowed him to wash his hands first, he turned on the water placed a small amount of soap in his hand, rinsed, turned off the water with his hand and ran out of the restroom. …show more content…
I decide to ask the little boy if I could teach him a song he agree and went back into the restroom I explained to him that I was going to show him how to poorly wash his hands while sing a new song he was excited. I began singing top and bottom which is a song describing the washing technique, then I began demonstration the correct hand washing procedure, wetting my hands under clear running water, rubbing my hands together making a good lather and scrub them well back, front and between the fingers as well as under my nails, I continued this process for 20 second, then I rinse, dry my hands on a clean paper towel and used the paper towel to turn off the water. The little boy was eager to try washing his hands while sing the new song that he had just learned, he did a wonderful job washing his hands after he learned the correct way to wash them, I believe it’s the song make it excite for the
1. Describe the organization and physical setting of the classrooms you observed. Pay particular attention to safety and accessibility, the physical arrangement of the room, the classroom environment and appearance (Danielson 2e):
My last set of observation hours were done at PJ Jacobs’s Jr. high grades 7-9, located in the Stevens Point school district. The teacher I observed at this school was David Hauser. Prior to this practicum experience I had no knowledge about David, or any knowledge about the Stevens Point school system. David seems to have a very strong background in team sports and athletics among the Jr. high school and high school levels. I feel David’s involvement in sports reflected strongly in the way he managed the classroom, supported student learning, incorporated different teaching styles, and ultimately lacked the ability to maintain students attention resulting in irrelevant play and poor classroom behavior from students.
During the observation of Morning Meeting, I noticed that my mentor teacher separated the children by gender when the calendar helper counted the number of boys and the girls in the classroom. My mentor teacher asked the calendar helper to have either the boys or girls stand up first to be counted. When the children are getting ready to go outside or to the bathroom, the teacher has also the boys and girls in separate lines. I felt that there were other characteristics for the teacher to separate the children. For example, she could she could have asked the children stand up or line up based on their eye color, hair color, the color of their clothing, their favorite animal, or even the first letter of their name. If my teacher broadened the
At the end of the lesson Students are going to be able to describe where they live using the verb "vivir" and "tener" in Spanish. During unit two, they been using the these verbs and in the beginning of the lesson they answer the "Do NOw" activity where I asked then: ?Donde tu vives? They answer the question in Spanish and used the verb in the correct tense. After that, they answer a listening question where they had to identify the part of the house using the vocabulary proposed at the beginning of the lesson. Finally, they started a project where they had to create a Floor plan and describe their ideal house. For this activity, they have to use the verb "tener" in present tense. The completion of these activities ensures the acquisition of the new vocabulary and the verbs tense. It is important to mention, that this lesson will continue next week because students need more time to complete their DOL activity.
I observed at a child care center with per school children age 3-5, between the hours of 11:00am and 1:00pm as well as 9:00am to 1:00pm. I observed a little boy who is five years old his name is Taylor*. I noticed that during center time this little boy just stood around and watched student’s arounds him play and waited for the teachers to integrate him into the children’s play. When I approached the teacher and asked why? I was told that he normally plays with one other child and that child is out because his family is dealing with something. So this day he just kind of floated around the room not really playing but watching the children as they played if you didn’t know any better you would think he was new to the class. He also didn’t talk
First, do you enjoy teaching others? If so, teach something for which you have a deep passion.

Sleep, attention, learning, and memory all go hand-in-hand when trying to improve the ability to learn and remember things. First of all, getting adequate sleep is beneficial in many ways. According to the National Sleep Foundation, adequate sleep for people age 18-25 is 7-9 hours per night. Getting enough sleep allows a person to have more energy to do daily tasks such as going to class and learning. The more sleep you get, the more awake and focused you will be during the day. Focusing your attention is also an important aspect of learning and remembering. Attentional focus basically means focusing on the things relevant to the task at hand and suppressing distractions. If you do not get enough sleep, your attentional focus will be decreased
When I arrived at Ms. Cortes’ apartment at 8:10 a.m. everyone was up. The boys were playing in their bedroom and Ms. Cortes was sweeping and mopping the kitchen and living room floors. I asked Ms. Cortes to put underwear on the Messiah and set a timer on her phone for 15 minutes. Messiah is two and he is potty trained. Ms. Cortes told me he goes to the bathroom at school, but will not go at home. She has accepted this behavior by putting a diaper on him when he is home. The alarm to help her remember to tell Messiah to go to the bathroom. The first time it went off, Ms. Cortes told Messiah to go to the bathroom and he did. I instructed her to praise him for going to the bathroom. It shows him, how proud she is and encourages him to continue to go to the bathroom. We did this throughout my shift. I noticed that every time Ms. Cortes’ alarm went off Jordan who is one would follow Messiah into the bathroom and try to potty. Ms. Cortes wanted him to go back to the living room and watch TV. I suggested she allows him to go potty with Messiah. Jordan looks up to big brothers, she should take advantage of this and potty train him. She could have three potty trained boys within a few months.
This lesson was from the Math Investigation books that are provided to the teachers every year. This was the start of a new unit, which was unit five. I was a little nervous to start off the unit considering this would be how the students view the rest of the unit. I had some trouble reading about the lesson when I first saw it. I got a little confused and thought about why the cube train was involved. I ended up looking ahead and seeing how it fit in to other units and it made a lot of sense.
Conducting classroom observations are very important to the prospective teacher. Observing helps show how experienced teachers manage their classroom. For this observation it was important to notice how the classroom was arranged, how the teacher interacted with the students, the teacher’s management style, and interview the teacher.
The boys just kept on not sharing and playing nicely and fairly, and kept taking each other’s toys and getting water out of the water table. After repeating myself a couple of more times telling them to share and keep the water in the water table, the boys stopped and started to play and share with each other and kept most of the water in the table. My reaction to the incident was that I was frustrated that they kept on not sharing and taking each other’s toys and things. Then, I was so surprised to see them listening to me after a couple of times telling them not to get water out of the water table, and to start sharing the toys and play with each other nicely. Overall, I was very surprised that they listened and started to behave better with one

Classroom observation is a main approach of teaching research. Scholars or researchers use video to record the real whole class and observe the teachers and students’ actions, words and the efficiency in the class. Though the observation, they analyze what approach is more suitable. This paper will select video 5 and video 3 as the material to do the classroom observation. Different aspects such as teachers’ responds, questions, instructions notes and students’ behavior will be addressed to analyze the efficacy of this class.
The following data was gathered while fulfilling duties as a principal intern at Theresa Bunker Elementary School. The data was observed during five to seven minutes of classroom observation as part of a walk-through in the spring of the current school year. My cooperating supervisor for my internship was able to go on these walk-throughs with me in order to have a productive reflection meeting afterwards. This elementary school has two of each grade level from Kindergarten to sixth grade. Since it was more feasible in this small school setting, I actually was able to do a walkthrough in eight classes. Here I will report my observations from five of those walk-throughs. As I went in to each room I was looking for four
