The book, “To Kill a Mockingbird”, written by Harper Lee, is a very impactful novel that acutely connects an intricate plot and story to American history itself, specifically the time of the Great Depression, where racial oppression was rather common, and sadly, accepted. This novel dives into the harsh times of the Great Depression and gives readers a rather sufficient understanding of what life was like back then. In this novel, there are a plethora of archetypes, those being symbols, motifs, themes, myths, and characters that have a deep impact on the story’s development.

The book, To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper Lee, is centered around the racism and injustice in the American South in the 1930’s. It focuses on a young Alabama girl named Scout, and her father, who is defending an innocent black man accused of rape. In her book, Harper Lee reveals the idea of empathy, through quotes such as, "You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view...until you climb inside his skin and walk around in it" (Lee 30). In the book, Atticus Her writing exemplifies the theme that empathy helps people better understand the motives and actions of others, through juxtaposition, symbolism, and stereotype revelations.

“I think there are just one type of folks. Folks”(231). Scout, an eight-year-old girl filled with curiosity, innocence, and an open mind, says this with her own perspective. Harper Lee portrays her views through Scout, who did not yet experience the world and believes that each person, regardless of their character, race, or class, has the right to be treated equally amongst all. This does not occur in the town she lives in, Maycomb, and although she thinks that everyone is equal, her journey in life makes her realize that this is not true. Without noticing, Scout with her brother Jem, and a close friend, Dill develop major modifications in the ideals, and actions of others. To Kill a Mockingbird displays the relationship between the African American and white race and how it shifts because of various incidents. Affected by racial discrimination, Maycomb’s society faces controversies after turmoil arises. Change is developed in Maycomb’s orderly society because of Dill, Jem, and Scout acting upon their thoughts, creating chaos.

To Kill A Mockingbird is a book that a reader can turn again and again, gaining new insights and knowledge into life each time. Sometimes an author uses a motif- a frequently repeated incident or idea -to get a certain theme across to the reader. In To Kill A Mockingbird, Lee uses motifs to clarify her messages or insights about life. Three specific motifs that Lee uses throughout the whole story are the mockingbird, courage, and walking in someone else's shoes.

This use of alliteration shows the importance of family standards which is why the letters are repeated. Lee uses alliteration when key details need to be noticed by the reader.

In the novel, To Kill A Mockingbird, Harper Lee gives us the character Atticus Finch to give us an example of what courage is through symbolism, pathos, and irony. In this analysis I will talk about about how Atticus’s actions and words all seem to try to teach us something, and that something is courage. We can see the biggest example of Atticus’s courage when he has to talk about Tom Robinson’s case or when he talked to the kids about what Mrs. Dubose was trying to do before her death. Atticus’s courage is the type that allows him to do what he thinks is right even if people don’t agree with him or if it seems hopeless to try. Atticus is also seen trying to pass down his courage and wisdom to his kids throughout the story.

In a stuffy courtroom during the summer of 1935 located in a simple Southern town, a lawyer stands ready to defend his client. However, in this trial the lawyer, Atticus, has a rough road ahead of him since he must defend a black man; in front of a white jury. Plus, he must break down the jury’s mindset established in the pre-Civil War ideas. He does not hesitate for a second but delivers a profound and moving speech which sears itself into the audience’s brains. Regrettably, this speech does not exist in history books, but instead in the fictional story, To Kill A Mockingbird. Despite its fictional roots, this speech earned its place on the chart containing many other well-known speeches. Yet, what made this speech noteworthy and proved Atticus’ skill in debating? To answer one could say his attempt to prove the innocence of a man stemmed from his adept use of pathos, ethos, and logos.

The game was about the following direction while creating different shapes using mathematical concepts such as lines, left and right. I had to create figures with blocks as I moved along. There were several sections that I had to complete. Each section was getting a little more complicated to accomplish because there were more steps to follow. You can say that we had to use algorithms because we had to follow a process to problem solve. I had to read and know which direction I would choose so that my character would finish their task. In order to pass to the next level, you were supposed to finish the first puzzle or section that you were on. The game that I had did not provide hints like the first one that I tried. The game had a lot of repetition which provided a choose for several turns in one.

The game i chose as my Adventure game was Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga, i played this game on my IPhone since it was the simplest way to get my hands on it, this game was developed by the Warner Bros. company and is available for free in the App Store. This game has no ESRB rating but it is rated ages 9 and above by the App Store and was released December 5th 2013. This game consists of expirencing all the orginal adventures from the original movies but this time you control the actions and the results and all while being a lego character, you will go through each chapter starting with Episode I: The Phantom Menace and so on to try to achieve your missions as a jedi.

These ships use a special space travel technology called Cherenkov Drive which allows them to travel thousands of light years in just a few hours. All military “drop” ships contain “drop containers” which the Mobile Infantry uses to deploy themselves to a battlefield. They are a small capsule just big enough to fit a soldier and their exoskeleton that drops straight out of a ship at a high atmospheric level. As the capsule heats up from the speed and height it is released from, it breaks into pieces eventually leaving the soldier in freefall at the right height to make a safe landing. The military also makes use of special humans that, in a simplest explanation, have super powers. Once dropped onto a battlefield, these individuals can sense and map out a whole underground city and its’ tunnels of Bugs in just a few moments using their hearing. Before embarking to Mississippi, Mamie knew, “Despite her determination, there was an indication that they were going to have a very difficult time trying to reason with anybody down there” (Till-Mobley 150) because of the discrimination that was present. Action/Adventure categories of games are very unique. These types of games generally feature long-term obstacles that must be overcome using a tool or object that is acquired at the beginning of the game. These types of games are generally a more item gathering, simple puzzle solving, and combat game. Games such as Assassins Creed and Ratchet and Clank are perfect examples of this category of games. Assassins Creed is a bit more puzzle solving and more stealth like than Ratchet and Clank whereas Ratchet and Clank is more of an action pack filled game with more item gathering and small obstacles along the way encountering combat in every turn that is made. Another famous action/adventure game would be Super Mario. The perfect storyline of saving a princess and while looking for her one would encounter different but strong enemies in each level he or she would go in; along the way he or she would also benefit from picking up certain items and having to complete certain obstacles to obtain that item that does later on become very handy when used it at the right time. Role-playing games play similar to action/adventure games but has a much more difficult way of how the game is completed.
