V. The man behind the mask, the father figure, and the killer is now gone but he never revealed a face of full heroism or villainy features. Being a hero, vigilante, or villain helps enhance the view on a specific character. In the comic book, “V for Vendetta”, the character V constructs events in the story that describe neither heroism or villainy features, which helps creates the thought of him becoming a vigilante. With the idea of V being a vigilante, it helps highlight the event of V holding Evey in jail and him helping the citizens escape Norsefire.
However, many people do believe that V is either a hero or a villain. Throughout the story, V explores the idea that he may be a villain through the events of him holding Evey in “jail”. While

A vigilante can occasionally be described through multiple faces. Given that, V specifies in the story that the government, is an anarchy it helps describe what he is trying to avenge. He then states that he believes an anarchy “wears two faces, both creator and destroyer.” (248/1) By suggesting this he may be comparing the government to himself wearing different faces. His multiple faces represent that he never consists of just one type of characteristic but of many features created by a vigilante. In the comic book, V’s discusses with Evey his thoughts of the government and states that he believes it “is chaos” (195/7). Since V’s character believes that there is something wrong but also wants to help is clearly classified as a vigilante. Source A states that “fictional vigilantes directly inspire real vigilantes” (paragraph 2) proposing that V is the fictional vigilante that is inspiring Evey throughout the story to becoming the real vigilante once he is gone. With this in mind, it also becomes clear that V knew his harsh and brutal actions against Norsefire where to benefit him by creating a similar character to take his place once he leaves. The actions taken by V throughout the story give the reader a clear view of his vigilante
The novel, The invisible hero by Elizabeth Fensham explores the theme of heroism and villainy. Heroism can be defined as doing a selfless act in hope of inspiring others. Villainy can be defined as an act of doing something ‘evil’ in spite of another person or group. although it is commonly known that heroes and villains are polar opposite it is much more complex because it all depends on perspective. This idea of heroism and villainy will be expressed through an analysis of the style, characters, setting and plot.
In many comic books we see how people take the law into their own hands and essentially break the law, but it is to stop an injustice caused through their societal unjust laws. Most of these comic book characters are called vigilantes within their societies and they are believed to be unjust, yet these “vigilantes” have the better idea of justice. The vigilantes will have the better idea of justice because of the ideals they carry with them and because they are the main character of the story, if they did not have the better sense of justice they would not be the focus of the story. Most people who read the comic books will call these characters heroes. In Antigone, we see Antigone say “My brother, and yours, though you may wish he were not. I never shall be found to be his traitor” (line 56). In this scene Antigone is talking to her sister, Ismene, about their brothers’ deaths and how only one has been buried.
Have you ever heard of a hoodlum performing a Good Samaritan act? Well, the typical stereotype is that hoodlums don’t do anything but hurt the community, but two boys broke that stereotype. The Greasers proved to be the heroes in the story, not like the beloved Socs. The three greasers who showed the most heroism are Johnny, Darry, and Dally. They sacrificed themselves to a more significant cause or to save the lives of others.
A hero is a person noted for brave acts or goodness of character. A person who face the danger and combats the evil. Heroic leaders have the purpose of achieving the goal, regardless of the challenging difficulties. Often sacrificing their own personal concerns for a greater good Some qualities are passion, integrity, honesty, confidence, patience, selflessness, courageous, and humble. An example of a hero is John Proctor. He is a tormented man. He believes his affair with Abigail irreparably injured him in the eyes of God, his wife Elizabeth, and himself. True, Proctor did surrender to sin and commit adultery; however, he lacks the capacity to exonerate himself.
The novel Cue for Treason by Geoffrey Trease, explores the adventurous times of Shakespearean England - a dangerous world of mystery, secrets, and even treason. The main character, young Peter Brownrigg, who gets involved in a murderous plot to assassinate the Queen, is a great hero in this novel. He displays various examples of heroism throughout the story, such as his acts of bravery, determination, and intelligence.
Superman, Wonder Woman, Spiderman—what do all these characters have in common? They are all products of the human aspiration to be saved. The word hero is passed around too much these days. A hero is not a football player that scores the game-winning touchdown or the goaltender who saves his team from a loss. A hero is usually an ordinary person that did extraordinary things. A true hero is really never a hero at all; at least not in their own mind. However, there are various cases today in which we see the exact opposites of these characters, the anti-heroes. The anti-hero is one who cannot be classified as a hero, for that said character lacks natural heroic qualities. However, the anti-hero cannot be described as a villain either.
Another instance where V 's actions harm innocent people without caring was when he ordered innocent people to wear Guy Fawkes masks and march to the parliament to watch the explosion. These citizens could have been killed by the military officers who waited for orders to strike though no orders were given. If V was a revolutionary, he could have found the way of making a statement without risking the lives of the innocent citizens. His evil actions present him as a rebel against the government and his fellow citizens. He also states that ‘ 'violence could be used for good. ' ' V 's actions of not caring about the others were the same as compared to Stanley Milgram experiment actions. The subjects in this experiment were suffering, but the experimenter did nothing to relieve the students the pain. Instead, he urged the teachers to continue to torture the students knowing very well they were suffering from the high voltage. The teachers played the sadist role as they agreed as they completely obeyed the experimenter 's instructions. V 's evil actions also present him as a sadist by enjoying hurting people and killing the ones who were in charge of the experiments.
This group tends to avoid help unless they know they will need it. Most vigilantes fight for vengeance of a family member or close friend. Most of the time, this person comes from a substantial amount of family money. Trained by someone with a many years of experience, these people most likely will know martial arts or many fighting styles to help take down their foes. They will also learn various tactics for finding a way to take down large criminal organizations in a short period of time. Once they get into battling more powerful foes or find someone of value to their efforts they will form a team usually consisting of: a tech maintenance geek, a sidekick, and someone they can call if they need them. Some good examples of a vigilante are: The Huntress, Batman, Green Arrow, Punisher, and many
Many people believe that Adam is the hero of Fearless, and while that is certainly true, someone else is even more of a hero. Kelly is the true hero in the novel Fearless and she demonstrates this by her unwavering commitment to Adam and by how strong of a mother she is to Nathan and Savannah. Adam is also a hero because of how he overcame his drug addiction. Kelley first met Adam at a club.
In almost every story there are examples of Man v's Man, Man v's himself, and Man v's Nature. For example, in the story " Jack and the Bean Stalk" Jack has an encounter with the giant and has to climb down the beanstalk before the giant chops it down.
In many situations, there will be at least a hero or an anti-hero. A hero is considered as someone that’s valorous or brave, but an anti-hero I someone that lacks heroic characteristics. An example of a hero would be when someone stands up for someone or saving someone but an anti-hero would be the opposite; which is a coward or lacks heroic characteristics. In the book “The Coquette”, Major Sandford was considered as what we call an anti-hero but Julia would be considered as a hero because she was concerned about her friend. In life, you’ll run across many people who will do evil things to you or towards you.
Firstly, although he lives in the terrible society with his “disgusting” government, it doesn’t mean destroying and bombing city are accepted. For example, in the issue eight, he plays a song in a high place to see whole the city as he waits for something will happen. That is, he looks forward to the explode of Jordan Tower. He blown it up. His quote “governments should be afraid of their people” is proved by his terrorist actions, is that shows people he is a free person, no unbound by anyone, helps people find their real freedom. His quote is also a call to riot, together resisting their government. There are all the things that a terrorist does. Secondly, he arranged and made Evey in the terrible situation in issue seven. There is no doubt that the reason made Evey became a prisoner was because of V. She neglected in a street; her lover died; finally, she became a prisoner and had to suffer a terrible life in a jail. Using violence to make people become stronger is unaccepted in any cases. Even so, V threaten Evey’s life and made she thought and accepted about her death. While it is true that Evey became stronger after she was free, but it is not the right way to
When Ruth questions him as to why he kill, he responds with: “Only to-to survive.” (Matheson 166). An iconic lone ranger, refusing to surrender to a greater power comes into mind, an image created by culture, of a hero. Due to Neville 's perspective, people want to identify with heroes like Neville and oppose villains like the vampires or the Soviet Union. Cohen argued, monsters have the ability to illuminate the secrets of the era. Monsters may have the ability to shed light on secrets of the era.
Anti-heroes do not solely exist in the fictional world. There are people in the real world, everyday who fit the anti-hero description. They are… the Mob. In ancient times loyalty was purest form of respect. It was a way of life. One was loyal to his or her family, govern, king, and God. Hand in hand with loyalty, comes the right to revenge. The Mob is one of the few “societies” that has reserved that tradition. For example: when a family member is assassinated, it is not only the right, but also the duty of the surviving family to avenge that death. This loyalty to one’s own, coupled with the fierce determination to protect them, are incredibly heroic qualities. Organized crime families are oohed and ahhed by the press and pop culture, and have their own fans. While these people are not ideal role models, they possess heroic qualities worthy of aspiration.
