In Animal Farm , power is authority which results in absolute power and control over the animals. In the story George Orwell gives an imaginary image of how "power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely"

At the beginning of the story , Old major , the most respected animal on the farm gives a speech, by this he planted the seed of the idea of the rebellion against man. He used his power of respect , honor and trust to peruse his point of view. This power that Old Major used was to gain his own satisfactions, his led to the rebellion which led to many deaths , such as the death of the hard working Boxer. The power that Old Major and gained corrupted the animals and led to the abuse of innocents.
