Please tell me I can’t do something because I'll try even harder to prove you wrong! I been through so many obstacles but was able to overcome them with God. If I can chose one word to describe why I deserve this scholarship it will be hard working. Besides being an excellent student, I love doing volunteer work.I am grateful to find opportunities like the one that your foundation is providing to students like me who are constantly fighting for the right to receive an education. Another reason would be that I feel I should win is the fact that I've have received numerous awards and achievements while in I've been in school. I currently have a 3.2 GPA and graduated high school with a technical and advanced diploma..
I believe I deserve the A.R.S.S.B Dean’s Student Advisory Scholarship because I am a hardworking student in the business field. I strive to improve myself daily, using the resources I am given throughout our campus. I make a great effort to always staying updated when it comes to any events dealing with the School of Business or TAMIU. Although, I am not involved in the A.R.S.S.B Dean’s Student Advisory Council, I hope to get involved with this program next semester that way I may gain experience and develop stronger work ethic skills. I believe I would be a great recipient for this scholarship based off my dedication to my work studies, and my will to be involved with TAMIU. Although I am classified as a Junior, it is my first year in college,
In 1890 to 1920 imperialism and progressivism rose in the United States, affecting the country and its people. Progressivism and the political, social, and environmental reforms benefited unions, women, and the environment. However, due to the growing concerns with urban social problems a major weakness was the overshadowing of other problems like nonunionized workers, farmers, and the growing racism specifically directed to African Americans.
Even though King hopes that the black community will fight oppression peacefully, he knows that without his efforts many angered individuals would be utilizing violent forms of protest. With the help of the black society’s church, King was able to lead the movement in a nonviolent way, which he believes not only benefited the blacks but the whites as well. “If this philosophy had not emerged, by now many streets of the South would, I am convinced, be flowing with blood(7). King continues his letter by saying that if he had not stepped in and instituted the idea of a peaceful protest that the blacks would’ve taken matters into their own hands, causing mass violence. As the letter continues King states, “if they refuse to support our nonviolent
I want to help research and design robotic prosthetics that provide more natural movements and the sense of touch. Movement is one of the challenges that affect people with missing limbs the most. Having the ability to stand, walk, reach, and grab are tasks that do not come easy for them. They will always need assistance. Being on our high school robotics team, we built robots that could lift, throw, and grab objects. I would love to make robotic devices to help disabled people live normal lives. I recently had the opportunity to visit a facility for wounded soldiers at Ft Sam, TX. We learned how they fit and customize prosthetic arms and legs for the soldiers and how they benefit
I would like to be considered for an additional scholarship due to not only financial reasons but because I believe I can become a model Honors College student. I'm actively involved in multiple organizations on campus, I work part-time as a student assistant with the Honors College along with making sure I get good grades.
I would use this scholarship to further my education and dream of becoming a surgeon. I have volunteered at St. Anthony Hospital since October 2016 in the PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) and the OR (Operating Room). I have over 500+ hours volunteering and in conjunction with that I have done a 100-hour internship over the summer. In the PACU, I work with nurses and I get to observe patients waking up from surgery. I help the nurses with anything they need like monitoring a patient, getting family members, cleaning bays, and answering phones. I help out in the OR by cleaning and stocking. It is fulfilling not only because I help the nurses out a lot, but also because I have a passion for the medical field. I started volunteering because of my interest in the medical field
As Milly adjusts to her new life away from her serial killer mother in the novel Good Me, Bad Me, the dark undercurrents of her past seep back in. Milly has already turned her mother in for the murder of nine young children when the novel starts, and the story of how Milly got to that point unfold as she begins to deal with everyday life after the horrors she’s experienced. Part of that everyday life is learning to fit in with her foster family, learning to fit in at school when her foster-sister Phoebe bullies her hard, and figuring out how to cope with trauma inflicted on her by her own mother while also being the only witness in her mother’s murder trial. It’s a lot for a fifteen-year-old to handle. Much of Milly’s internal dialogue is addressed to her mother and shows how she’s working
I believe that I deserve this scholarship because I have dedicated my life to helping anyone and everyone I can. Starting in middle school I worked very closely with The Town of North Hempstead in all and any volunteer opportunities they offered. In 9th grade I was given the chance to help out at ht e local library, then at the school library, and have set up sessions where high school students read to the kids in elementary school. 10th grade I continued with these endeavors. In 11th grade I realized I wasn't doing enough to help, so I joined up with Shoes for Harvest. This organization collects shoes and distributes them to people who are in need. Working with them we collected over 1500 pairs of shoes, which is more then they had done in
Uneducated, Ignorant, and a house keeper was all I was set to be living in a small predominantly white town in Florida. I knew racism existed, but was too young to comprehend it. As I sat in class to better myself, and ensure that I learned the native tongue of those around me I found myself becoming blended. I am a Puerto Rican/Dominican American and the second generation of being a natural born citizen. I am, however, the first generation to apply to college. I feel I deserve this scholarship because I have come a long way from racism and overall expectations.
I deserve to be considered for this scholarship because I will take this great opportunity as my motivation to finish my study in order to improve the communities that provide my knowledge and skill. This source will help reduce the burden from my family who support me to attend Webster University. I am grateful for the opportunity that you offer and I am persisting to work hard to reach my goal of a career. I hope you will consider me as the one who receipt the scholarship, so that I can continue my dream job as a financial
The scholarship committee should elect me as a scholarship recipient because I live to serve my community. A college degree is a highly valued asset for a person to possess. It is my aspiration to attend college and a scholarship would provide me with that opportunity. I will take advantage of that opportunity by contributing to society. I would love to invest the benefits of a college education by donating to charitable and leadership organizations, or simply providing them with fundamental resources required to succeed.
I believe I should be considered for these scholarships as I’m hardworking, passionate, and altruistic. These scholarships will help in my endeavours of attending college debt-free, while learning skills to assist me afterwards.
I believe I should be awarded this scholarship because of the hard work and dedication I put fourth in every school day. My family has just enough money to make it by, living pay check to pay check. I don't like to see my parents struggle and I now have two jobs in order to not take away from the money making ends meet. My economic status doesn't hinder me, it makes me stronger. I know I have to do well in high school and college in order to change standards that my family lives in. Neither of my parents graduated from college and I want to break the cycle not only to make them proud, but to make myself proud. I believe I should be awarded the scholarship because I am not only thinking about futhering myself, I'm thinking about helping my
The reason I am deserving of this scholarship is that, I am persistent and have the ability to put in all the hard work it will take and follow it through to achieve my goals and dreams. I believe in myself that I can achieve my goals and dreams, and I believe that this scholarship will give me that foundation I need to build a better self and enable me to become a person who will make a difference in this world.
I deserve this scholarship because disregarding the seventeen ACT score I have or the 3.24 GPA I have, I have worked very hard to get to where I am now being my last year which is senior year. Around two years ago, I wasn’t who I am now. Freshman and sophomore year of High School all you saw was a girl who just let days passed by. I didn’t pay attention to my grades, or pay attention about college or anything. If I had a 70 in one of my classes I saw it as a pretty moderate grade, as long as I was passing my classes. However, little did I realize that the poor choices that I made would affect my last two years of High School.
