Currently in Fairfax County, Virginia access to child care, and being able to afford it are often crucial determinants in deciding if both parent will work. Most families have three options for securing child care. First, parent(s) can stay at home and care for their children. Which is an option that my family and I chose because child care is so expensive we could not afford it nor do we qualify for subsidized child care. Second, parents can pay for child care out of pocket.

Diversity is said to make us unique and beautiful, yet too often it creates the ugliest conflicts. History will tell us more often than not that fundamental components of human life (race, religion, politics, culture, etc) are the root of many conflicts. Yet, people seem to make our discrepancies seem praiseworthy, and that we must accept them wholeheartedly. Although acceptance is crucial in forming a more empathetic society, it is important to recognize that one’s willingness to accept others is shaped by their past experiences and upbringing.

Drinking age is not a strange phrase in our lives. Every time when we go to club or buy some liquor, we have to show our photo ID to prove that we have already 21 and we are legal to drink wine. I think this is a really good method to control drinking problem. Before I read these two articles which are “The 21-Year-Old Drinking Age: I Voted for it, It Doesn’t Work” by Dr. Morris E. Do you really think people in our society today accepts everyone even after they have met them? The book "Of Mice and Men" shows society does not accept anyone they are unfamiliar with. Most people do not accept different, but there are others here in our society that actually accept these unfamiliar people. Some people are here to help you through life and some are not.

We people need to try to understand that everybody has somethings that contrasts from the next person. No one always agrees with someone else, nor do we share same opinions, ideas, or likings, however those things that make us different are actually what makes us same.

Feeling accepted is the grounding of a happy life. When people don’t feel accepted, that is when they become depressed or unhappy. Acceptance comes in many forms; something small like being accepted on to a certain table at lunch time, to something as big as being accepted in the greater community or even feeling accepted in the world. Acceptance can define who you are. If somebody isn’t accepted it can damage their souls and can throw them off the path of finding who they really are. As an individual, I have always seen the world somewhat differently than the average person in a community such as mine. Those around me, as devout orthodox Jews, tend to view those different than them as strange and odd - often times even judging them negatively. I believe wholeheartedly that each person can learn an immense amount from everyone they come across, and by continuing our habit of blocking off most of society with negative words, we are cutting ourselves off from a lifetime of growth and possibility. Yes, others may be different than us. They may have different views, different beliefs, and different ways of dealing with life. But like us, they are human - with hopes, dreams, heartbreaks, desires, and passions. They each have a wealth of knowledge and wisdom - from the two-year-old boy to the ninety-seven year old grandma. And in my humble opinion, I strongly believe that respect should be given to everyone, no matter their race, religion, or station in life.
