Extended Goal Statement I sat in my child development class in a “brick and mortar” classroom setting. What was I doing there? I was extremely interested in what the professor was speaking on and what was being discussed. However, I was beginning to doubt whether I wanted to continue in my current field of study, Speech/Language Pathology. I no longer felt I was being fulfilled. There was something lacking. I talked to a few of my friends who mentioned how much money I would make as a Speech/Language Pathologist. I heard what they were saying, but somehow it just did not matter. I had to find the missing link……. Rationale for seeking specialization in a CACREP-related program Deciding to become a Student Guidance …show more content…
I am interested in working with elementary or high school students. Working with these students in the school setting, I will be giving the chance to advocate and work with them and other organizations to assist in achieving a positive outlook on social, academic, personal and career development. Consulting and collaborating with parents, teachers, school administrators, medical professors, and other professionals in the medical and counseling field will also contribute to increasing my knowledge in staying with the counseling trends and strategies that will affect the development of students. Impact of Previous Employment and Volunteer Work As a preschool director, a newly licensed teacher, and community volunteer, with many years of experience working with children, I am very much involved with their social, emotional and behavior development. Currently, I am enrolled in a human development course at Capella University and have learned a great deal about my students’ developmental differences. Studying the various developmental theories with Bronfenbrenner Ecological System of Development being my favorite, has allowed me to observe and apply the various theories to the developmental stages of my students. Self awareness I have been volunteering as a cheerleading coach for my community football team since 2002. The girls are ages 6-8 years. I watch some of them come in

I would like to pursue counseling as my career and become a successful leader in the field. I have always had a passion to assist people in emotional distress. As a qualified professional in the counseling field, I would be able to identify their problems as well as offer them the most appropriate solutions that may help them deal with their situations. However, working as a professional counselor requires that I possess the relevant skills and knowledge that would enable me to offer quality services in which I think that I can obtain the skills at Capella University. As a
While a business would either undergo a quick or gradual, constant adaptation to its changing and competitive environment, there are certain core ideas that would stay the same and provide guidance in the process of strategic decision making (www.capsim.com.). These unchanging ideals are known as the business vision. The business vision statement comprised of three main components; core values, core purpose and visionary goals (www.quickmba.com). Core values are those that would remain unchanged regardless of time, current industry environment and any management trends. Core values are the building blocks of a company and are consisted of those values which strongly hold by the company. Core purpose is the reason that
Developmental psychology is the study of how human beings age and transform throughout the eight major stages of life. This paper will focus on the physical, cognitive, social, moral, and personality development of individuals found in stage two, (early childhood 1-6 year olds). Some people say that with dedication, persistence, and time people can accomplish any goal. Others say that people are limited in what they can accomplish and need to be realistic when setting goals.
Drawing characters, backgrounds, rims, cars, or trucks spends most of my pastime. In addition to drawing, I would also like to partake classes in Animation. Art directors earned $56,880 in 2000, and the highest 10% made more than $109,440 dollars. Artist work about 40 hours a week, but during busy periods, they work overtime to meet deadlines.
I am a 17-year-old junior at Port Saint Lucie High School. I plan on graduating with high honors and getting scholarships for college. When I graduate, I don’t plan on “taking a break” I plan on enrolling to a four-year college. I want to study in the medical field. I’m planning on majoring in being a nurse, or a registered nurse or a paramedic. My top two choices for colleges are located in Boston Massachusetts which are Northeastern University and Boston University. While being in college I also plan to have a part time job that will help me pay all my expenses.
Cheerleading has always been a major passion of mine, and I have been lucky enough for the past two years to volunteer while doing something I love. Beginning as junior, I started with this volunteer organization. For the past two years I have worked with young girls ages ten and eleven. I began working with them in July and finished in October. Each week, I prepared new material such as, cheers, dances, and stunts, and would then teach this material to them twice a week at practice. I also attended the football games where I monitored and helped them
There are many different theories of development which we use to understand children’s behaviour, reactions and the way in which they learn.
1. Do you feel that the Bearington plant has the right equipment and technology to do the job? Why?
Bronfenbrenner’s (1977, 1979, 1989, 1993, 1994) ecological theory suggested that child (human) development occurs for the child within the context of various environments. These environments, or systems, are influenced from within and between other environments. The individuals within each system influence each other through various transactions that occur between them.
Everyday we are developing no matter our age, but it is how we develop children that will tell a tremendous amount an individual. How a child developments is fundamentally important at a young age as it affects all aspect of their lives once the child matures. Throughout the class, we looked at many theorists during the course of the semester as well as looked at many articles pertaining to the concepts of the development of children. The theorists and articles opened up our minds to a world that we have never seen before and concepts about child development we have never been taught but have seen in the practical work we do every week. What makes humans unique is the ability that we have to interpret the language being used, as Lois Bloom
Developmental Psychology has widened my perspective and knowledge of the nature of development from humans’ infancy to adolescence and emerging adulthood. Although I have learned about biological, cognitive, and socioemotional processes and periods of development, I am especially interested in socioemotional development in infancy because it is the foundation for a child’s future development. That is to say, if children have a healthy socioemotional development from infancy, they will have a healthy life later on. By understanding the developmental process in infancy, I will be fully prepared when I have children or when my family’s members do.
My personal goal as a student at the University of Phoenix is to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management within the next two years. This goal is very important to me because of the impact it will have on my family, work and personal life. In my family it will set a positive example for my daughters, grandchildren, and youngest sister. My family has been a source of support throughout my years in college as I have pursued this degree while maintaining a full time job. Obtaining the degree will be an accomplishment not only for me but also for my family who has given me the encouragement to reach my goal. I would like for my grandchildren to remember their grandmother as a strong and educated woman.
