You don’t separate Jesus from God.
Constantine was the first Christian emperor of Roman Empire as he was baptized on his deathbed.
Theodosius goes beyond Constantine and says that Christianity will be the official religion of Roman Empire. He went against everything that had been set beforehand.
The Roman Empire went from persecuting Christians, to Christianity now being the official religion.

Why does Constantine go against what had been set before to switching to Christianity?
Constantine basically rejected everything of the current faith, and adopt a new religion. How would you feel if someone told you to stop believing in your religion and switch to a new religion? Romans who were Polytheistic and they were probably resentful about being told to adopt a new religion. These Romans didn’t really know too much of Jesus.

What were the Crusades?
The Crusades were a violent set of wars over spreading religious belief.

How does the Roman-Catholic Church name change?
Roman-Catholic Church became the Catholic Church. Martin Luther, thought the Roman- Catholic Church had too much power. Protestant religion came from people like Martin Luther who thought the Roman-Catholic Church was too restricting. You could pay a fee to get out of hell in the Roman-Catholic Church,
