The classic bestseller, Fahrenheit 451, was written by Ray Bradbury. The title is significant because it says that at 451 degrees fahrenheit is the temperature at which books burn. This is stated on the cover of the book, which gives the reader a clue about what the book will be about. The story is set in a suburban city in the twenty-fourth century where books have been banned from homes, schools, and just destroyed anywhere they are found. Along with the person that owns the books is in jail for going against the government policy. Third person omniscient is the narrator of the story. They tell the story and they are all knowing, so the reader knows what is going on in the minds of the characters throughout the story.

For the religion, the author uses this when Montag is with a group of people that have also left the cities to escape from the government. Animal imagery is shown with the hound. This is animal imagery because the hound is not living or nonliving. Also, used as a theme by the author was life/death. This was shown throughout the novel starting when Montag’s wife Millie tried to commit suicide. Continuing when the woman, burned herself with her books, and when Montag burned Captain Beatty with the flamethrower closer to the end of the novel. Life is also shown in Fahrenheit 451 because Montag is able to survive the government and their search for him for the crimes that he committed. Furthermore, life is shown as precious by Faber. Faber didn’t want to risk losing his life, so he just stayed home giving Montag directions from there. Of course, this was after they had become friends later on in the novel. This still shows that he is not willing to tell any information to Montag before he knew that he could trust him. Another theme that Bradbury used was technology. Technology was shown when Faber gave Montag the earpiece and the hound. These are both main technology advances that are not seen everyday or have never been seen at all, but they are a key part in the
