Family
Family it has so many different definitions and they are different for each person. The dictionary definition is “a group consisting of parents and children living together in a household” or “all the descendants of a common ancestor”. My definition of family can range from blood relatives to friends of the family that have been around for some time that are practically already family. I don’t believe family is people that are just blood but those that have had such a deep/ emotional impact on your life that consider them deeper then friends. Also on the other hand you can have people that are blood with you but not consider them family because of personal or other reasons.

Looking at the past of one 's life can be a happy event for some, but for others, it can be tormenting to have to reminisce about the past.
I'm very grateful to have a family that loves me! When the whole family is together, it makes me feel safe, like nothing awful can happen to me; when we are all together they make things easier. My family treats not only me, but others with respect. I always try to avoid thinking about what would happen to me if I didn't have a family. I feel when most people come to think of it, it makes you wonder. Who would you be today? Where would you be today? How would you grow up? It's always those things that get to you. In my opinion, it's safe to say we are all very lucky to be in the country we are in. However, these people include; parents, grandparents, and sister.
The 1950’s were a decade of growth and expansion. Growth of the middle class, expansion of religion and a growing economy kept Americans on the move- literally. Families were moving from the cities and into the suburbs. “This massive shift in population from the central city was accompanied by a baby boom that started during World War II. Young married couples began to have three, four, or even five children (compared with only one or two children in American families during the 1930’s) (The American Story, pg. 729). This style of living began making the immediate

My family consists of five people. My dad, Brian, mom, Mary, and my brothers Ben(11) and Jack(6). My dad's family all have a blood connection. He and my aunt, Lisa, share the same blood. On the other hand my mom's family are not all blood related. Both my mom and uncle, John, were adopted as babies from Minnesota. My family doesn't have any blood relations either. Family has a very complex definition. It can be stripped of its value by being described simply as a blood connection, something with only dna binding you to each-other. It can be associated as a money source or just strangers that live in the same vicinity as you. Family could just be a never ending list of people who you don’t truly know or seem to care about. Yet, family can also be something of deep enriching and emotional connection. You don’t necessarily have to be blood related but, you can form a connection that can’t be broken no matter how broken of a situation you may be in. Family in many people’s eyes is a bond that can withstand anything and everything and will remain to stand intact. It doesn’t matter the size or the type of
When a person thinks of the word family, they immediately think of those that are bound by blood and marriage. However, this is not always the case. Every single person that someone may come across defines the word differently and the significance will remain the same. The dictionary defines the word family as a derivative of ‘familia’ meaning those that live under the same roof. To most, family is the most important thing there is and something that will never turn even when times get tough. Of course, families bicker and yet they come back together when faced with adversity. Family is comprised of just individuals who are of regular heritage in the definition’s sense. However, there are many instances when family extends beyond the normal
Michael Halloran (2004) proposes that culture as a diverse and complex system of shared and interrelated knowledge, practices and signifiers of a society, provides structure and significance to groups within that society which subsequently impact the individual’s experience of their personal, social, physical and metaphysical worlds (p.5). Halloran (2004) theorizes that cultural maintenance is key to increasing the health and well-being of Aboriginal Australians whereby he suggests that culture provides collectively validated ways to think of and value oneself, further arguing that culture helps to suppress fundamental human existential anxieties about social isolation produced by our mortality awareness. Emile Durkheim (Marks, 1974) identifies anomie as being without law or norms, similarly, D.J Spencer (2000)
In this essay I will examine the reasons for the changes in the birth rate and family size since 1900.
Over the past years of my life, many things have changed, including my friends, lifestyle, religious beliefs and jobs. With everything constantly changing around me, there is one thing that has always stayed the same: my family. When I think about my most blissful moments in life, they all involve my family. My relationship with my parents, brother, husband and children is something that I learn to treasure more and more every day. They guide you, teach you, protect you, love you, hurt you, but most importantly they are there for you. He was gone before I could even blink. And left me all alone. But family helped me through this journey and one day I hope to help others like others have helped me.
No one can’t meet a family like mine’s. My family is well diversified. Every family member plays an important role in all my family’s lives. In my family, there are four people: my father, my mother, my little brother and me. My father is one who brings money home and is also responsible for organizing and planning family trips. My mother is the one who is in charge for making meals and makes sure everyone eats at the appropriate times. My little brother is the pet of the family. He actually doesn’t have any responsibilities, for he’s the pet. I am the rock of support in my family. I always go beyond my parents’ expectations. I also support my younger cousins and little brother, by being a role model that they can look up to. Another
Family comes first. That is a saying my family lives by. I grew up in a house of love, where every morning starts with a hug and family dinners were a must. Growing up, grandparents and great grandparents were an important part of everyday life. I grew up luckier than most people in regards to having my grandparents close to home. For my whole life my grandma, Marcia, lived down the street from me and my other grandparents all lived within a twenty minute radius of us. This made it easy to have weekly tuesday night ice cream parties and family dinners on a weekly basis. Being surround by so much love and support growing up really helped shape me into the person I am today.
