O.J Simpson’s murder case is known to be one of the most famous murder cases of all time. The case is about the murder of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman being stabbed to death. The murder case was a criminal trial held at the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California, the trial lasted from November 2, 1994 to January 24, 1995. The former professional football star and actor O.J Simpson as tried on two counts of murder, the death of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and waiter Ronald Lyle Goldman, in June 1994. The police accumulated enough evidence indicating Simpson’s guilt in the murders and placed a warrant for his arrest. On July 22, 1994, Simpson was asked the question in the Courtroom, “How do you plead.” He followed this question with the statement, “Absolutely one hundred percent not guilty, Your Honor.” On October 3, 1995 the jury’s verdict stated “We the jury in the above entitled action find the defendant, Orenthal James Simpson, not guilty of the crime of murder.”

In this paper, I will discuss the three crime codes, two from my state which is Mississippi and one federal code. My two state code crimes are code § 97-3-59. Mayhem and § 97-3-7 (b) Aggravated Assault; also my federal crime code is 18 U.S.C. § 201 : US Code - Section 201: Bribery of public officials and witnesses. The in depth analysis of the little evidence from the crime was able to lead the main suspect, Bruno Hauptmann. From the first search of the nursery “a ransom note demanding $50,000 was found on the nursery window sill” (“Lindbergh Kidnapping”). This ransom letter was found to have handwriting similar to that of a German. After the case went cold for three days a second ransom note showed up, this time the price was raised to $70000 (“Lindbergh baby kidnapped”). The Lindbergh’s decided that after the second ransom note, saying that their kid was still alive, they decided it was time to pay the ransom money to save their child. They were able to negotiate with a man named John to pay the first ransom of $50,000. This transaction went down in a cemetery close to the Lindbergh house, and gave the mysterious man the nickname ‘Cemetery John’. This ransom money would later be used to find Bruno Hauptmann, the real killer.
