In the 2015 article for The Atlantic “Farmland without Farmers”, Berry writes a thought-provoking piece about how industrial agriculture has taken over American landscapes, and as a result, stewards and culture are lost. Berry gives us the impression that an urge to change is needed, and the sense of knowledge and community is required to help farms thrive again. Berry starts off his article by stating the fact that farms have close to zero human workers these days as machines take over. He states that this is a more ignorant approach and that “eyes” for concern for health and care are lost. He goes on to give us a visual on how farms used to work, how they operated as simple pleasures and there was a clear sense of beauty and sustainability
