Fidget Spinners Should Not Be Allowed In Schools Essay

Fidget spinners are the biggest craze in everywhere, not just in schools. Teachers must have had more than enough of them with children they teach having them, their own children having them and even themselves being convinced into having one. They are now the one thing that teachers must hate more than students disrupting the class, Untucked shirts and those messy assignment sheets. Some students are only using fidget spinners as toys and are not listening to the teachers and not doing their because their attention is so greatly placed on the spinner spinning for up to 4 minutes. For other student’s the spinner are a great benefit because they are still listening to teachers and doing their work but the one thing that teachers still don’t like is the noise, which is an irritation buzzing sound.

I believe that fidget spinners should not be allowed in school and/or banned. One reason why fidget spinners should not be allowed in school is because they are a distraction. In class, the devices whirl causing noise and prevents those around the individual from learning due the previously said noises and looks. Second and finally, fidget spinners should not be allowed in school because they are meant to help those with disabilities. While this seems counter-productive, most students who bring the fidget spinners to school don't have these disabilities and are actually often used as a toy in the classroom. Thus, these reasons concludes why I believe that fidget spinners should not be allowed in a school/educational environment.

Fidgets are a great way to keep children calm and collected, but in order for them to work, there needs to be expectations. For me as an adult, I can get a little antsy if I sit for a long period of time to what do I do? I just grab my phone out and mess around on it. In a school setting that cannot happen. Some different alternatives could be a stress ball, fidget cube, bag of marbles, or tangles, etc. Some expectations for the fidgets can be: keep it somewhere where it won’t be a distraction, use it nicely and properly, and if it gets in the way of work, then it gets taken away. If expectations get set, fidgets can be a great way to keep your student focused and not get over stimulated while getting their work done.

I think vending machines should be allowed at schools in America because of these three reasons. To begin with it makes the school money. Another reason is that some students don’t have enough energy to stay awake in class. Also the machines could carry drinks and students can get drink.

First of all, schools should have vending machines. If a child did not bring a snack he or she can buy one. Kids might not get as hungry in class. With the money used to buy the snacks the school could raise funds. For these reasons schools should have vending machines.

Should fidget spinners be allowed at school? Although almost every kid has fidget spinners, we should not allow them at school. As a result of pg.27 “ a boy from Australia got a nasty eye injury from his fidget spinner”.Also it’s difficult to focus on what’s going on around you while looking at a objects that spins. According to pg.27 “Many teachers have told that students tend to focus on all spinning going on instead of working at hand”. Plus they’re similar to bringing toys but just more dangerous to spin with especially in a building full of people.

Imagine children in a classroom trying to focus on what the teacher is saying. Then the students see this big, flashing, purple fidget spinner. It is very distracting and all of the students end up missing the whole point of what the teacher is saying. Fidget spinners should be banned in classrooms because they are distracting, a safety hazard, and many children are misusing them.

Many teachers believe that if we add new electric components to our schools that students will not pay attention as much and will not focus as much in class. Many teachers don't like the idea that students will have access to facebook and many other social media websites while they are in school, they are also afraid that many of those children will abuse the amount of mechanics that are given to them. Last of all, I believe that we should keep Fidget Spinners because they benefit all different types of students in various different ways in the classroom. For example, Fidget Spinners allow the user to focus or pay attention better so, that the student is not focusing on moving or fidgeting around. It also, helps to occupy the child in various ways while still being able to learn without distraction. Finally, I’ve tried Fidget Spinners every once in awhile and I have found them to be surprisingly helpful. I was calm all of a sudden, even just after a couple of spins I just felt so relieved of all of the stress and anxiety.

I think that fidget spinners should allowed in school because some students can stay focus and some can’t. According to the article it said “ fidget spinners bring kids together.” most people don’t really need fidgets to stay focused because either way they're going to talk.
